Geno is trying to much to force things, just take the sack. If we have to kick a FG, it is what it is. His Acumen is getting the best of himself.

If the Seahawks have to go through a very bad time to get rid of geno, it will be well worth it.....

I think we just got gifted a "no call" on Coby Bryant, it was helmet to helmet. He didn't launch like a missile, but whew that could have been a call

The number of times the refs have crapped on us, I don't feel a little bit bad if we win due to a bad or missed call.

Predictable play calling in OT 4th and 1 in the red zone cost us that game. Jumbo package brought in and handoff to K9 after several consecutive runs that gained some yards. Went to that well one to many times with an O line that had not gotten any push all game long. Rams scored almost immediately on several big chunk passing plays when they got the ball back. Hawks blew many chances in that game to come out with a win. Very frustrating to watch.

Disagree. The Offensive Line cost us the game with their inability to pass block, getting no push on run plays, and penalties.

I don't disagree with you and in essence I said the same thing. It would have not been a bad call with a better O line:

There’s more blame to go around, though with the pick 6 and missed extra point.

I certainly agree with that! I don't see lack of effort as being the problem with this team but they need to play smarter. Mistakes, turnovers and penalties are killing us week after week. We consistently waste opportunities to put up points.

Yes it most certainly was, BUT the Seahawks are their own worst enemy. We WOULD have won if Meyers would have made that point after td he missed. Throw in ridiculously stupid holding offensive penalties and more and voila.

It was closer than I expected, for sure. I think Macdonald's defense is a much better match for McVay than Pete and whatever puppet DC he had.

Agreed with a slight tweak: We would have won if the OL had blocked for Meyers' PAT attempt. With the other OL penalties and turnstiles at guard, it seems that the lack of talent at OL is a huge reason for the loss.

Yeah, Meyers isn't having a great year, hitting on just 80% of his FG attempts which puts him in the bottom 25% or so of the league. But guess what? He's making FG's at a higher percentage than the player widely recognized as the best kicker in the game, the Ravens Justin Tucker, who's connected on just 79% of his FG attempts. Meyers has had some really good seasons in the past and didn't just suddenly become awful. Kickers tend to go in streaks.

Like North Hawks said, it's one of those good news/bad news types of things. For the lack of a better description, physically we should have won several games this season if not for things like bad calls, high snaps, penalties, and missed kicks. But that's part of the game. This team is still searching for an identity, and until we find one, we'll figure out more strange ways to lose games.

I actually liked Macdonald's decision to go for it on 4th down in OT. Conventional wisdom probably said to kick the FG as our defense was playing great. But he needs to show to his players that he has confidence in them, that he's willing to risk his own job on their ability to perform.

And speaking of penalties, we are the most heavily penalized team in the league, but the odd thing is that we also lead the league in beneficiary penalty yardage. Is that just a coincidence? Or is there some other reason, like getting flag happy crews, that explains that phenomena?

There's a pretty good website that I've used that does a good job of breaking down penalties.

We had this problem under Pete too.

Makes you wonder if defensive coaches have more penalties due to being more aggressive and also less involved in the offense. Our defensive penalties are often due to aggression and our offensive penalties are often due to lack of discipline. That is more likely on the OC.

The problem as I see it is weakness up the middle. Most if not all team sports require strength up the middle to be successful and I can’t think of any where weakness up the middle and strength on the perimeter works. But that’s how this team is currently built.

I’ve been saying that the OL was a problem for about 12 years now but it’s never been fixed which is an indictment of Schneider and Carroll for not really going after improvements.

I think when your OL can’t get any push up front, it’s inadvisable to try a run play when the Defense is stacking for a run. If they played more with Geno under Center then some play action might work with a short pass or some type of option.
