OT Justin Jefferson, what does it mean going forward

Justin Jefferson got paid! Good for him, as some would argue he is the best WR in the game, maybe top 5, but that is debatable. Jefferson It is set to average $35 million a year, and that is more than what some QBs make on average per year. I doubt Brandon Aiyuk will get anything close to this, but he may leverage more loot his way with this huge signing as he continues to hold out.

I agree with some of RD's past comments that it's absolutely insane to pay one player this much money on your team, as it will hamper your ability to build collectively.

When Nick Bosa broke the $122 Million guaranteed amount, which is still record setting for a defensive player, I knew then we moving into a future where skill position players are going to get paid like franchise QBs. The only way Bosa could get this deal is Brock is averaging $984,000 per year as a starting QB. If the 49ers cannot pull off another SB run while Brock is under is super cheap rookie deal, then they are going to have reset and start over.

As for the Seahawks I think we are one more year from washing our hands of the Jamal Adams debacle, and we can hopefully utilize our cap space more effectively. If we do decent this year and possibly draft a QB in the next draft, and utilize the cheap QB guarantee we may have a shot to be a contender in the next 3 years.

2025 is the last year for DK’s contract. Does he demand a new one this year or the beginning of next year?

Given the circumstance he would probably be more likely to seek a new deal in his final year, rather than this year. Most contracts carry a higher base salary towards the end of their existing contract, which means there is higher chance he get's renegotiated next year or possibly traded away.

So if DK wanted to bank on a new contract and put himself in the upper echelon of WR pay, this year's production is vital to that. If he lights it up and leads the league in some sort important category then I can see him holding out next year for a bigger contract.

I think he will get a lot more chances to impress with a modern day Offense and his big play capability.
If the Defenses don't double him then the other WRs will have a lot of success because they can't double everyone.

what it means to me is I'm pissed at my parents. I'm not 6' 4", 215lbs and twitchy fast who is the best at highpointing throws. I'd be rich, too!

Re: OT Justin Jefferson, Now Ceedee Lamb$$$$

Ceedee Lamb got $100 mil guaranteed. When you pony up so much money for a non QB, I just can't imagine a team being a Superbowl contender. The only position worth over paying for is the QB, if he is the right QB. Cowboys are going to regret this contract.
