Yeah, that one hurt. First turnover of the game. Obviously, Geno should have just eaten it. Low percentage play anyway.

Quick 3rd quarter. McCaffery is the MVP of this game so far.

Yeah, it don't look good. Two TD's down in the 4th quarter when you can't stop the run is a big challenge.

We're going to need a quick TD and the defense to really step up to have a shot.

We had 3 penalties on 3 successive plays last series. We can't be playing behind the sticks, something we didn't do in the first half.

Game over. Oh, well. Like Cbob said, house money. Nice call, everybody in the stadium thought that they were running the ball.

Good season. 49ers are too stacked. We really need a stronger front seven.

The wheels came off. Picks. Penalties. We allowed too many big chunk plays. The middle of the field was wide open for the niners all day. As clean as we played in the first half, we played just as bad in the second half.

Yeah, I'm afraid our bubble just burst. I got the impression that we've been playing over our heads.

Third penalty called on us for a lineman downfield. When will they learn?

You know it's bad when Lockett drops a pass.

The game was lost in the trenches, especially on defense. Our 'weapons', ie Walker, Metcalf, and Lockett, are nearly as good as theirs.

Well, at least we scored a TD during garbage time.

Any bets on what Hawktawk will use as an excuse? It can't be a Jell-o field or the weather, it can't be the refs. What phase is the moon in?

The only thing we can take from this game is how far behind we are right now. Thankfully we have 4 picks in the top 55, we need to hit on this draft. 49ers are talented and we aren't close right now. We need help in the front 7 on D!!!

I mean #23 had 15 Carrie's for 119, that is pathetic defense. Deebo 6 receptions for 133??? Tackling was pathetic. That was a non-competitive loss that should have been closer. We have had serious tackling issues throughout the season and that reared its ugly head today again. I'm there is very little positive to be taken from that game. Our 2nd half defense was pathetic.

Yeah, I have to agree. I got the feeling that we were playing well over our heads, that the first half of the season amounted to a lot of fool's gold that we cashed in on due to a very erratic and dynamic league that hadn't found its level. Geno really hurt us in the 2nd half of the season, and his two turnovers in the 2nd half today just killed us. It took him a few months, but he finally wrote back.

Meh, we had a 10 year vet QB that hasnt started a season in forveer, lost our mlb 1, our rb 1, our SS 1.....we still made the offs when people were predicting we would only win 3 games with those injured starters actually playing. It was a successful season. We have a lot to build around, some good draft selections. The rebuild wasnt so rough.

It depends on what you call "successful". IMO simply making the playoffs doesn't necessarily mean that it was a successful season. You can call me spoiled, but especially in light of this grossly over bloated playoff system, just making the playoffs doesn't float my boat.

Having said that, there were some things that I was pleased with that has given me hope that we're leaning in the right direction, and if you use the preseason expectations as a gauge of performance, we outperformed expectations. But in no way am I satisfied. This was just one more very mediocre Pete Carroll team.

I think this game will have raised some serious questions about whether or not the Hawks will be willing to meet Geno's price in order to bring him back. I'm thinking the drop off in his performance, especially all those picks, kind of just puts him in the same class as Drew Locke. And Locke is younger. I think there are a lot of QB desperate teams that will bid up Geno's price.

Rumor about the Hawks willing to use the Franchise Tag on Geno if they can’t come to an agreement.
Bad move as it puts us in Cap hell again and he’s not worth $30+ M.

Yeah, it was a better season than I thought it would be but the 2nd half showed how far we have to go to become a true
challenger for a championship. We are another 5 or 6 players away from being solid in most areas.

Why don’t you stfu ? Honestly you’re a complete Jack wagon . Eat it .

We all watched it . Lost to a better team obviously . The kid threw us a couple early and we couldn’t squeeze them . Geno cracked in the second half with the huge fumble and imo it’s over before the pick . I wouldn’t say he “ wrote back “ . But mr always right will . The officials were weird . Nothing in the first half then boom with the tick tack calls and no calls . 3 man downfield calls in like 6 snaps and if they were a foot too far that was it every time . The announcers called it out once . Another nfl referee job . Clearly wasn’t the difference .

We’re the 11th victim of a team that might win it all , loaded , tip of the cap . The qb is as I told you all a stud , the real deal . We might be dealing with him awhile in the division. .
It was a great entertaining season , highly overperformed , very bright future . I’ll focus on that rather than obnoxiously trolling another forum member .

I thought we looked excellent in the 2nd quarter! And it seemed San Fran had some serious trouble - clearly overlooked us. DK came alive for the first time in years it seemed!

Then everything fell apart specifically, on defense. Thought Geno had 2 HUGE mistakes. Penalties also showed up only in the second half. And bad ones.

But OMG we could not stop anything they did in the second half. That team is so damn stacked. It’s embarrassing. I don’t see any team stopping them out of the NFC this year. I could see them winning it all. Purdy is better than Jimmy G and probably Lance. It reminds me of the Astros-Mariners situation. How the hell can the Seahawks ever top SF over the next so many years? Guess we will find out how the draft improves us, but we need a lot of help.

they will peak for a year or two then Cap pressure and age will catch up to them just like it happens
to all teams. Keep in mind they had a bunch of high 1st round picks over a short period of time. But
they will all want to get paid around the same time.

Geno kept us in the game in the first half with a defense that couldn’t get a stop limiting possessions vs the best defense in the league . The fumble was bad but came after we had driven to the red zone down 6 after our defense had given up a 7:45 drive to open the second half . Then of course down 6 another TD then the pick but imo down 14 it was already over . I thought DK and Geno had a nice game . Nobody picked up Genos mistake or anyone else’s . Team loss .

I think if we had brought any defense at all it would have made a difference . Geno was definitely part of the loss but we don’t even get to halftime without him . Don’t make the postseason. I think franchising him makes a ton of sense , maybe try to bring Lock back cheap . Anyone watching the game who thinks we should go qb early in the draft needs your bifocals checked . Hard to win giving up 500 yards .
