Just an FYI. Stetson Bennet is 25 years old, and he's 5'11".

It seems that there's a strong consensus that Jalen Carter is overrated. Everyone I've talked to says basically the same thing, that he's not the dominant player that you'd expect out of a top 5 pick.

I thought Bennett was 26 which was Locks age when he was traded and 5’11” probably a buck 90 vs 6’4” 225. I like Bennett . There’s small guys who have succeeded , I know a few although SB is more Drew Brees than Russ .

I just see a guy , as Pete said a year ago that might be better than most if not all the guys coming out . Looking back Pickett is the only legit starter out of that class so far . Drew has 4 years in the league .

Caught some of Pete’s comments about Geno “ shoot He better come back , he’s played phenomenal “
Sure sounds to me like a coach that knows Geno wants to test free agency and is gonna let him do it .

His path looks very similar to Geno's as HT pointed out. His arm talent looks even better than Geno's. From what I've seen and hear, where he needs the most growth is the mental aspect, presnap. That's Geno's edge.

I think it means not only a strong arm, but the ability to throw a receiver open, provide enough ‘touch’, be able to throw
a good deep ball, good timing to hit receivers in stride, and more.
With Locks TD/INT ratio, it makes me wonder what part of the above is missing. If it’s better than Geno then why hasn’t he
been given a chance to prove himself?
He’s seen enough of this league to develop without playing, so it sounds like he’s just not good enough. And if that is the case
then it’s time to get a Franchise type QB for the next decade and maybe beyond.

Bad throws result from bad decisions and bad mechanics. Arm talent is strength and touch, shot shapes over the top, through the mail slot, hard , soft. Accuracy is another issue though. Drew was Geno NY when he showed up here. about a 1-1 TD to int ratio.
He actually played well his rookie year going 4-1 at season end then they fired the coach. He had like 3 coaches and 4 OCs in Denver. He was better last year in denver than Russ this year.
But as we recall preseason he dropped as beautiful a dime bomb TD over the top as you willsee, a flick of the wrist from midfield . Then he blew a hot read for a game ending sack fumble. Threw 3 picks his final start although one wasn't on him.

But Pete says hes ready now and I trust him. But Genos done nothing so bad you would yank him out. Were in the postseason with Mike Sandos #36 preseason starter prospect in a 32 team league      You see that River? :D . I think Pete relished it as much or more than Geno. But Geno was a top ten QB in the league this year even with the rough december. Were in a playoff game.

But dont sleep on Drew, from the same guy that warned you all about Geno...

I was just throwing it out there, that Bennett is older and shorter than most quarterbacks. That could make a difference in where he ends up falling. If we don't take a QB in the first round, he might be an option in the second.

I liked Bennett, too, but not as much as Stroud, who I think is better than any of the QB's that came out of the 2022 draft class and is at the top of this one.

Yeah, I think Pete has proven he knows his QB's, and possibly better than they know themselves even. After years of staying with Russ, he stuck his neck out for Geno, ignored all the jokes and ridicule, and it paid off big time. As Pete said, this is what Geno looks like in practice. If he decides to do the same for Lock, he's earned my trust.

He'll be 26 next October and he is listed at 5'11 190. Very similar in size to Bryce Young (6 ft 195) (although the Combine will tell us their actual height and weights). Kyler Murray, who is obviously small by NFL standards is 5'10 207. Both Bennett and Young are going to have to put on some weight to withstand the impact of the NFL. For reference Wilson was 5'10" 204 and Drew Brees was 6'0" 213 at their respective Combines.
