J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!

Postby RiverDog » Mon Dec 26, 2022 7:50 pm

Jets quarterback Mike White has been cleared to play this Sunday. A much more formidable QB than the other Wilson.

White has practiced on a limited basis since, but hadn’t been cleared for contact so he couldn’t play.

That clearance came Monday. And with the Jets (7-8) still in the playoff hunt with two games remaining, they get their quarterback back. And "barring injury," Saleh said, for as long as the season lasts. But the coach wouldn’t go as far as to speculate whether White could be the long-term answer at quarterback.

It’s an infinitely harder game with Mike White . He is a fearless gunslinger who has put up big numbers every chance he gets . Injuries have knocked him off the field every time he’s been elevated . Imo it’s his only issue. He’s Drew lock with swag . Game on . I see no reason New York should not look at the guy long term . Especially looking at the dumpster fire with Wilson there and in Denver and all these other first round flame outs.

Jets are coming to play . I hear Seattle is a slight favorite . I have no idea why if anyones watched us at home . Zero faith . I expect 7-10 . Surprise me .

I think we win out.
Home field advantage isn't like it was as we've lost way more than we used to at home, but I think we have as much talent as these others at the moment.

10-4 on our home field advantage. It's a thing of the past. I expect to see quite a few empty seats. Tickets are selling for about a third of what we paid for the Raiders game.

The Jets are still in the hunt for the 7th seed, and they haven't made the playoffs since 2010. The team likes playing for Mike White a heck of a lot better than they do Zach Wilson, so I expect them to play hard. They are a very good defensive team, ranking 3rd behind the Niners and Eagles.

The Rams have won 2 of their last 3. They play the Chargers this week, who just clinched a playoff spot last night and may rest some of their starters. The Rams could really be on a roll by the time they get to us.

The Jets Defense is Super Bowl caliber, but it's being wasted on a poorly performing Offense.
This draft might just set them up for a good run into the playoffs next year, but I think this game can be had by us.

Their offense has been performing poorly, but they haven't been going up against the 29th ranked defense, either. Plus they're getting Mike White back, and they've played better with him starting than they have Zach Wilson.

The Jets have lost 4 in a row, to the Bills, Vikings, Lions, and Jax. Two of those teams currently have a combined record of 24-6, and the other two were games where Zach Wilson started.

And as I said, they still have the playoffs as a lure, a really big deal for a team that hasn't been to the dance for 12 seasons.

I'm picking the Jets, 24-20.

Jets are actually a 2.5 point road favourite right now, most likely changed when White was announced he was cleared to play. I felt bad for Zach Wilson last Thursday, that Jets crowd despises him, but I guess he brought that on himself with his one word "No" answer a few weeks back and took no accountability.

New York is one tough city. They do not know the meaning of words like "sympathy" and "compassion."

And you're right, Zach brought it on himself. But it's nothing compared to what the other quarterback named Wilson is going through right now.

Ofer Christ sakes . Wilson is going through making 50 million a year to do an awful job they can’t fire him from for 2 years and they still have to pay him 160 million . He’s overweight meaning he ain’t trying near as hard as you all think. No sympathy .
This idiot in Ny isn’t worth the sweat off Russels balls . At least Russ did some incredible things for a long time . Wilson will be better known for hitting up his moms bff than anything he ever did on the field .

One more time in the profound words of Geno Smith .
“ my hard times would be a dream for someone else “

I have zero sympathy for either Wilson paid millions to play a kids game and not taking it seriously .

We seem to be able to find lots of ways to lose . I’m done with silly picks to win .
Between boneheaded throws , bad calls , no defense , weeks with no run game . We’ve lost 4 must wins in a row .

Make it 5. Not sure how . Manipulation wouldn’t shock me but the Jets won’t need it . If we’re gonna win it’s gonna be a Detroit type game . I don’t see us having that type of potential to score minus Penny, Lockett and now Dissley . Lucas has a knee. Neal and Woods will be banged up if they play at all .

We lose a high scoring game by 10. Pete watch is on . First loss I’ve predicted in 20 years at least . I wish I had a heated shop to go tinker with my car in . I don’t want to watch any more of this team .

Well, once again, I was taken by surprise. We played a solid game on both sides of the ball.

After today's results, it will require a win over the Rams and a Lion's win in Green Bay next week for us to nab the 7th seed. The Packers crushed a good Vikings team today.

Great game, Geno looking solid, Walker is a stud and DK needs to quit complaining after dropping that one Geno threaded a two defender needle to hit him in the breadbasket with. Still in it, can't complain.

Got it . It wasn’t easy . Walker is sensational . Dee Jay might have played his best game today . Geno was a B-. Some great throws and decisions , some not. Lucky to avoid a couple of picks but receiver error cost him a ton of yardage . That bsll he dropped on DK………he’s a gunslinger . Gets him in trouble but he’s got no problem putting his foot in the ground and ripping it . Too many big sacks but I don’t know how much time he’s got right now.
Defense was interesting . Great in the red zone . It’s a win over a playoff contending team and our defense shut down the most prolific of the jets QBs. I was wrong. I expected a loss . This is as confusing and unpredictable a team as I can remember .

Great late season win! K9 is a beast, imagine him all season! Geno was good enough against tough Jets defense. DK was meh, and I needed him to kill for my fantasy team! He just doesn’t have that dominant wr game in him. Or it’s rare.

Defense was pretty dominant. Taylor was relentless most of the game. Finally some picks!
Things are looking up to end the season in a positive way. I expect a relatively easy W over the Rams. Note- GB is gonna smoke the Lions.

Agreed. 9-8 and we'll miss the playoffs. The Packers destroyed a very good Vikings club and have won their last 4 in a row, getting hot at the right time of year. They should have no problem dispatching a horribly inconsistent Lions club on the Frozen Tundra.

The good news is we won today. The bad news is that it looked like Jordan Brooks sustained a leg injury that looked pretty bad. He is the heart of our defense.

Jets sure didn't look like a playoff contender today. White was not accurate, and his receivers didn't help him either. Our O-line played just well enough, the Jets front 4 is really good and I figured Geno would be pressured all day, but it wasn't that bad. Sauce Gardner is the real deal, though.

Yeah, they've had issues at the QB position. I thought that getting Mike White back would be a difference maker, but he was awful yesterday.

I think White was quite bothered by his ribs . He was playing in a flak jacket and probably shot up too . He looked pretty solid early but as he got hit he got worse and worse .

I was surprised Saleh didn’t pull him at some point but I guess when it’s Zach Wilson or 100 year old Joe Flacco on the bench what do you do ?

Yeah, could be.

It will be interesting to see what the Jets do about their QB situation in the offseason. Zach Wilson is obviously going to be traded as the idiot has chit in his own bed. He has two years remaining on his rookie contract plus a 5th year option, so someone is likely to give the Jets a mid to low round pick.

How much do the Jets like Mike White? Enough to where they aren't going to bring in a FA or draft one?

I think it's inevitable that they take a QB with one of their first 2 picks.
They are currently at 13 and 44 for those picks but could drop if teams ahead of them win their last game.
Maybe they will look at us for a haul of picks moving up about 10 draft spots.

I agree! I think they could go after a Carr and be great, especially with their RB coming back next year. Wilson is done, and White just does not look like the guy. Impressive win for Us though. I still thing GB kills Detroit and we could win and still be out. Losing Brooks was a blow.

I forgot about Derek Carr being available.
He might be their target and they could move on with him. He's not a bad QB but NY is such a meat grinder for QBs in particular they need someone with experience and some talent with that good Defense and some good RB/WRs
already in place.

There's going to be a lot of quarterbacks available, starting with the GOAT and including Baker Mayfield, Jimmy G., Geno, Lamar Jackson, and Daniel Jones. All are scheduled to be free agents if they can't be resigned by their teams. I also heard a rumor that the Niners might be cutting bait with Trey Lance.

Lance just had another surgery to remove hardware that was causing issues .

I dunno . I’d have to look at the body of work but white typically plays better and he had a very bad rib injury .

If I’m the Jets and burned a #2 overall on Wilson I’d think twice about doing that again .

If I’m the Jets I’m rolling pat , fix the o line , bolster the defense . Wilson is useless in trade . Have an open competition in camp between he and White . Maybe Genos pep talk will light a spark . I believe in White though . Seattle had a good game against a sore qb . I give us credit for our 6th good defensive effort of the year .

I don't think that striking out on Wilson will deter the Jets, or at least they shouldn't. Everyone recognizes that the draft is a crap shoot. The quarterback is the most impactful position on the field, and you don't give up, you try to analyze what went wrong with your evaluation and start looking again.

I did a deeper dig on White. hes had a few monster games and a few similar to yesterday. probably not the guy going forward anyway. The Jets are a team that should take a look at Carr or Geno if he hits the open market. That would be ironic.

I agree with you about the Jets. They are a team that should be looking at a veteran quarterback to get them over the hump and signing a FA would preserve their draft capital while not have to worry about grooming a rookie. Carr, Geno, and Mayfield would be on top of the wish list.

I’d have Carr 1 due to 8 years of consistently top 15 play . Geno 2 based on his numbers , leadership and poise following a legend and behind a rebuilt line .

Mayfield a solid 3 if that . Might not be my third option . In 5 pro seasons he’s never had a single year like Genos .

1 great game with the rams and not much since . That guy needs to go the Geno route . Sit on the pine and learn how to be a professional .
