We didn't Coug it. Damn, that was crazy.

At least the offenses for both teams looked great. It was an exciting watch. We got our run game on track. Geno continues to look good in the first half. First half Geno pro bowler, second half Geno hyper conservative.

Wish the defense had played better, but I did like seeing Woolen pick one off and run it back for 6 like an antelope that snorted cheetah blood.

Penny looked like Penny at the end of last season. Explosive and "see you later" when there's a hole he gets going north and south.

Yes, that fact hasn't been lost on me. But sometimes it can help a struggling OL and run game to make hay against a bad team. Just to experience what it feels like can carry over.

Denver has serious problems, and I am almost ready to throw in the towel and say you were right and I was wrong. The OLine is not as good as advertised, and the whole team is totally out of sync.

And they may have lost their best RB and Randy Gregory on defense. Maybe top five pick incoming from Denver. They lost to the 0 and 3 Raiders, the weakest of the three other teams in they play in that division.

We’re 2-2 with zero defense . Although that’s not entirely true with cobe and wooolen . Nobody in the league is playing much better then geno . Now Pennys going off . Just a bit more defense and look out

They should have beaten the Vikes . I dunno it should piss off any team to be a 6.5 underdog any week but it hasn’t made any difference . Be angry all you want if you aren’t good enough to do something about it .

I don’t know at all . I had us winning a shootout 31-27 last week . We were a TD short but close . I’ll say Geno builds off his 325 yard performance and shuts some yaps for a week anyway . Riding a good run game he throws for 419 yards and 3 TDs. 2 rush TDs . Woolen picks off Goff . 37-24 hawks .

That was as close as any .

Detroit is an odd team that's still putting the pieces together.
They have the worst Defense, but the 2nd best Offense from a scoring PoV. They were also missing their best WR and RB but still did a number on our Defense.

Our OL is getting better and looking like they are learning how to work with the guy beside them. Some bad penalties from Cross and the better side to run was behind Lucas. That was
to be expected considering how much less Cross run blocked than Lucas in College.
Wollen probably won't see many Offenses try to drag him across the middle in a trailing position much more after that INT. It's the perfect play for him to make a good play on the ball.
Bryant looked more comfortable as well so that's a good sign.
We're still getting gashed by the run game, though and that's a big concern as we head into bad weather season and more teams begin to run more.
It should be a much tougher test against the Saints in NO next week. Their Defense is better than Detroits but their Offense is sputtering to say the least. We might have a chance there
to snatch a win.

Sean Payton threw the NO organization for a loop and they haven’t recovered . With Winston gone it’s Andy Dalton . He is who everyone but me and Pete thought Geno was . A failed starter and average backup. We saw the saints last year . It was Genos worst game as a Seahawk , 60% completion but a TD pass to DK . Lost 13-10 on 2 missed meyers fgs .
So let’s see. I think we can score 25-30 . Defense ? Who knows but they will wake up some Sunday and flip the switch and look the F out .

This win wasn't totally unexpected as several of us, including myself, predicted a win in a high scoring contest...albeit it not THAT high.

Statistically and otherwise, the Lions have the worst defense in the league, surrendering an average of 445 yards and 35 points per game, and with it being 4 games into the season, the stats are beginning to take on a higher degree of credibility. In addition, Detroit had their top running back, their top wide receiver, and their starting kicker out due to injury, and yet, we still barely beat them, the decision being in doubt until the last minute or to. Statistically, it was a virtual dead heat. The difference in the game was the pick 6 on the first play of the 2nd half.

Fifteen teams, nearly half the league, has a 2-2 record. There is just one unbeaten team and 7 teams with one loss. This season hasn't been following the same pattern as most previous ones, with the favorites rising to the top and the pretenders sifting to the bottom. This Sunday we travel to the Big Easy to face the Saints, a team that is in the same predicament as we are, ie in a transition period after losing their franchise QB. Andy Dalton has played a lot of football, and we've been notorious for making pedestrian quarterbacks look like hall of famers. The Saints defense is much better than what we saw last weekend. They rank 12th in total yards surrendered. This will be a much better gauge of where our offense stands.
