Seattle was ironing out their wrinkles too. Both teams has the same amount of time to prepare. Seattle had a lot of young guys and new starters at several position; that’s an advantage for Denver. They had the most experienced quarterback and still couldn’t fully execute. They are no different than every team in the league trying to sing their groove in the beginning of the season. It may well prove Denver was just as lucky not to have to play in Seattle once the Seahawks find their leg.

To the thread topic. Great first half by Geno. A not-to-lose second half for him. No mistakes but no points. Looks like he can make the plays in this offense, but I’d like to see him step up more. Help the rookie OTs. Rather see them keep stoking the fire to keep pressure on the opposing team, but Pete may not go for it.l, but I’m not convinced this a defense that will hold on to the win with a slim lead.:

Pete put everything into winning game 1 to squeak out a 1 point win at home. He even talks about how much he put into win. And some Seattle fans are acting like we dominated or Russ didn't look way better than Geno. Russ did look far better than Geno, especially in the 2nd half. About the only thing I saw with Russ was his touch with his receivers was off a bit which I expect to be gone by midseason. Geno just finished playing nearly every game in a QB competition in the preseason where he had to work very hard to win that position against Drew Lock. And even with all that preparation and play time, he put up 17 points at home on Monday night with no points in the second half. And we're talking about this like it was some world beating performance. That's how low our expectations are for Geno Smith.

By midseason, you can mark my prediction on this, Denver's offense if Russ stays healthy will be looking far better than Seattle's. Call me out if I'm wrong, I don't mind. What I saw with Russ was him kicking the rust off from no preseason play and missing TDs by inches or dropped balls by his receivers in the end zone. That rust will be gone soon enough. The dude threw for 340 yards, 1 TD, a 101 rating, and a 69 percent completion percentage. He's going to build on that in that new up tempo offense. He seems to be getting the ball out faster and hitting his check downs more. I'm going to have fun watching Seattle and watching Russ play in Denver. Russ looked good running the WCO to me.

Russ threw 3 potential picks and dinked and dunked more than any game I recall him with Seattle in forever. His TD was underthrown so bad all Cobe has to do is look back. The other 2 were on the mitts.

Russ is Walmart Kirk Cousins now, you need 8 he gets 7    or with the game on the line and 4th an 5 he stands calmly on the sidelines as cameras showed as Hackett put the game on his kickers shoulders from 64 yards out. I remember Hackett being asked what the offense was gonna be and he said "whatever Russ wants". I guess he wanted to kick it.Hes a little chunky and slower too. Denver is gonna be really bummed this year.Wait till divisional play :o

Saying a man with 3 near picks and 1 TD pass who lost the game played better then a guy who complete 94.5 % of his first half passes, 84% overall , 5 incompletions and 1 was a throwaway, you just cant face it can you? Geno is a good starting NFL QB thanks to Pete Carrol, ranked #3 in passer rating in the league. Russ is on the back 9, still gonna put up points but tell me his last clutch game winner? I cant remember . He was 0-3 last year now 4 in a row couldn't close the deal.

Genos first half performance put us ahead and his ability to take care of the ball was enough to get it done. Beyond the fumbles it created long fields and this awesome defense aided by a few holds shut us down. Without the 4th down fail we drill them IMO, snow ball running downhill.Great PETE BALL WIN OVER LET RUSS COOK. yards dont wind up in the score column but TD passes do.
