Seahawks Donkeys picks and predictions

Postby Hawktawk » Tue Sep 06, 2022 4:59 pm

Maybe a couple days ahead of schedule but I’ll be there so what the heck . When I saw the game on the schedule I was initially freaked out a bit . But on reflection , seeing how some of our guys looked in preseason and watching Russ sit the whole preseason I feel a lot better . Russ has provided a novel of blackboard materials. Some in the past week . But the disrespect card only gets you so far . At some point you need to be able to match up . I think Seattle can . As great as he’s been Russ can start slow . No preseason in a new offense I think we will have early opportunity . Been on board since the 98 yard drive and not backing off now . Geno can play and I wouldn’t be shocked if his stats were better than Russ in this game .

I think we jump on them early, build a lead and shut them down . Master schools pupil .

Seahawks 20-17.

Carroll breaks out the kitchen sink to win. He knows all Russell's tendencies. They pull off a close win more due to outcoaching Nathaniel Hackett and his rookie coaching staff.

Nice . It’s what I see. Pete has a huge advantage knowing Russ as well as he does and Hackett will be coaching his first pro game . It’s easier than if it was mid season. The timing is perfect for a Seattle team that has listened to a raft of s#iit since March .

I think I put down Denver 24-14 in our picks this week.

31-3 Denver. No offense or defense from Seattle. Wilson throws 4 td’s…….

Okay HT, here it is 31-10 Denver. I don't see how we move the ball on the most underrated defense in the league. Nor do see how we stop RW and all those weapons with the Pass defense that was last in the league. Sorry. We have NO edge pass rushers they have Chubb and Gregory.

If Taylor takes another step, he could be pretty good but it remains to be seen if he can do that. Mafe might also be a find.
Both of these scenarios are just hoping at this point. Taylor did some good things last year so maybe there's hope for him.
With the 3-4 we might have some other rushers, too but we don't know what they've decided on yet.

Yeah, that's just it. In order for us to approach the type of season that HT is talking about, ie a minimum of 10 wins or an expectation of 12, we would have to have 3 or 4 players like Taylor, Barton, Jones, et al to step up and have break out seasons well above what they've done in their careers to this point, plus Adams and Diggs would have to stay healthy as our depth at that position is woefully shallow. On offense, Geno would have to have to produce like he's never done before, Penny would have to stay healthy for at least 90% of the season, and our two rookie tackles will have to rise to the occasion and play at an NFL level. Any of those could happen, perhaps it's even likely that one or two of them happening this season. But it would take 3 or 4 of those things all to occur for us to have a HT-like 10-12 win season, and that's just not a reasonable, sane expectation to harbor, more like a fan boy's take.

I understand that we're wearing "action green." That makes it a slam dunk. We're losing big.

Thats funny River! I just think they beat us by 14. Its not College, but they have too many play-makers on both sides of the ball, and QB, come on, Poor HT, I will almost feel sorry for him.

I thought you had the score 31-10. So you're getting more optimistic? :D

What a bunch of wussies , self loathing fans who love a deserter more than the Hawks . If we lose I feel bad for all of us as we all should . Why single me out . For being optimistic ? For seeing thought previous dudes veneer ? For seeing cracks in his game and Hacketts acquiescence to Russ with no
Preseason at all . The blackboard material from Jesus Christ superstar has been energizing for team and coach . We have more talent by far than projected and the opportunity to strike early in the season , make a huge statement and energize the team and fan base . Not sure id be as confident a few weeks in but I think we’re disrespected and neglected.

So I’m an idiot on a forum I’ve been in since 2000 on the pi for being the most optimistic guy and the most ardent defender of the rag from a guy who broke agreements and talked crap after being rewarded beyond measure by fans and the organization alike . If we lose I’ll be ready for those fans giddy with excitement that we lost so they can attack me . It’s what it is around here these days .

We shall see the reality soon. Its all opinion . I've watched more film than anyone on the forum this past year most likely, probably Sando etc too and its what my optimism is based on. Hunches too of course but its not pie in the sky and there are a few, not many pundits who agree. KJ too thinks Seattle can challenge for a playoff spot THIS YEAR. But hes one that also believes Geno is more than capable of leading the offense." Team Geno all the way even if its Garropolo or Mayfield". His words not mine. I guess hes delusional too.

Although I did see a recent preseason ranking of starters than had Geno up to #22, ahead of 10 guys including Tua. None of that matters . Its between the lines.

Monday night is either gonna be fun for me or nobody unless they love Russell Wilson more than their team. Im sure there will be new donkey fans who jumped on the bandwagon in 2012 who will be in the stadium playing fanboy. I been around since 76. not so much.

Broncos apparently have a really good CB with Patrick Surtain and a good safety Justin Simmons. They are rated as having one of the best secondaries in the NFL. That is going to make passing against them tough, so hopefully our run game is rolling against the Broncos.

Surtain has already said he expects DK and Lockett to be a challenge . I don’t know how many starters played at all on either side of the ball . Our QB for week one may be undistinguished and underestimated or overestimated but he’s been hit , knocked around , run the offense . If he throws like he did most of preseason and the guys catch it we might shock the league . I love catching a team with a sit starter mentality on week one . Curious to see how our rookies perform . If we can win right away starting all theses rooks watch out come December .

I was watching Nathaniel Hackett interviews. This guy looks like a weak coach. He was talking about going with the hot hand every game. I didn't hear any team vision. Just let the players play and hope they are hot that week. He doesn't sound like he goes by metrics or knows how to turn a team around when things aren't going well. I'm expecting a weak game plan from Hackett. He's pretty much going to let Russell and the team do whatever and pray it works. A head coach with no team vision is a weak leader. I think we will take the Broncos. Pete has a vision and a plan. He knows how to turn things around and adjust.

I’ve had a feeling for a while we had a chance and the closer it gets the better I feel . I may feel a lot worse at 9 pm tomorrow after blowing a grand to watch Russels triumphant return . But I also think Pete has a plan and the balls to be an nfl coach . Hackett lived off of Aaron Rodgers and it looks like Rodgers misses him
But there’s a thing called getting promoted to a level of incompetence . Hackett had to answer questions all summer about Russ . I think we have more . Vegas predicts Geno (mutt dog) will be awful and if he is we have no chance but there’s so many weapons . 6.5 at home is a gift for this young fast hungry team . 27-13 hawks .
