Pete Tests Positive for Covid

Postby RiverDog » Tue Aug 02, 2022 5:45 am

According to the Seahawks' statement, Carroll tested positive on Sunday, which was a day off for players. He's remaining at home and is in communication with his coaching staff with the plan to participate in team meetings virtually until he returns to the facility.

In March, the NFL and its players' union suspended the COVID-19 protocols that had been in place the past two seasons. CDC guidelines, which the league is now following, state that an individual who tests positive for COVID-19 or experiences symptoms should isolate for at least five days.

Coach Carroll is fully vaccinated and is experiencing mild symptoms.

Prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery and limited effects of a virus still dangerous.

I spent a week battling covid myself last month and even though I'm fully vaxed and boosted as well there were a couple days there where I was as sick as I have ever been. I hope his symptoms remain mild.

My wife and I are one of the few that have never caught it. We're both fully vaxxed and boosted. However, my 65 year old brother, whom was fully vaxxed and boosted once, caught it a couple weeks ago and said he was so sick he couldn't hardly get out of bed.

As the story noted, the league has dropped all the Covid protocols for the 2022 season. However, all individuals must continue to monitor themselves daily and self isolate for 5 days if they test positive, so it could still have an impact.

I hope he's OK. It can be a real bother if it becomes 'Long Covid'.
There's a hockey player for the Canucks who in the prime of his career caught it last year and still can't train enough to be able to practice. It looks like his career might be over at this point.

So you've only had 3 shots? If that's the case, you need to get another booster shot.

The symptoms seem to vary even amongst those that have been vaxxed. Cbob and my brother were both vaxxed, and although my bro didn't get the 2nd booster, ie the 4th shot, it kicked both their arses. Then you have people like President Biden, who's 79 years old, that catches it and has very mild symptoms.

All indications are that Pete has very mild symptoms and should be back to work at the end of the week providing he tests negative. It's still very much a threat, as there are cases out there like what North Hawk mentioned. If they come out with another vaccine or booster, I'll be the first to roll up my sleeve.

I've had COVID twice. One time it was a bad chest cold for two days and the other time barely noticeable. I've been vaxxed once. I don't plan to get boosters.

The strain going around now is fairly mild. The virus has taken the usual path of viruses where surviving strains become weaker because the stronger strains have killed their hosts too quickly leading to the death of the strain. And the earlier more dangerous strains have likely been killed or mostly killed by vaccination.

Pete should be fine. At least the psychological fear of COVID isn't as present as it was two years ago where I had workers thinking getting COVID was some kind of death sentence even when I explained the low probability of death because the media kept broadcasting COVID like it had an Ebola-like fatality rate raising stress levels and causing people to react way worse to positive COVID tests than they might have otherwise done. The power of broadcasting fear is immense.

And we know better how to treat it as well. I could not believe some of the videos I watched of people talking about how they treated their COVID. Some of them were taking fever reducers. You should only take fever reducers if the fever is outside the range the body can handle, otherwise the fever is the body burning the virus out of your system. You should not try to reduce it if your not outside a range your body can handle. And the lack of fluid consumption when a fever is sweating the water out of you by some of these people was just ridiculous.

Pete's a healthy 70 year old guy who runs around like some teenager. I'm sure his cardio is healthy and he'll be good to go shortly.

Carroll is back. COVID did next to nothing to him. He's ready.
