Aseahawkfan wrote:Damn. That's hot. Its in the mid to high 80s over here. It was 92 yesterday. I ended up stuck in traffic for four hours when they closed down I5 south on the way to Seattle. That was not fun even with air conditioning. Truck caught fire carrying oxygen tanks and blew up. Damn nasty. Glad I wasn't around that when it happened. Fortunately no deaths and everyone got clear.

Geno- Didnt look great, under threw some passes down field
Lock- Looked very uncomfortable and wouldve been sacked many times if the defense was actually allowed to tackle
Eason- Looked horrible, guy also has chicken legs (like no muscle at all)
I would start Smith based off of what I saw today.
On one play the left tackle didnt even block the defender and Lock wouldve gotten lit up from behind.
The new RB walker looked great and that is guy is very fast. Hard to say how real that was tho when the defense isnt allowed to actually tackle. But he looked good from what I saw.
Metcalf dropped some short easy passes and looked like he wasnt really trying or wasnt focused
Lockett looked great, caught an amazing td pass that wasnt easy
Josh Jones made a couple really nice defensive plays breaking up passes and intercepting geno
Our TEs and LBs all looked solid
Myers missed a FG
NorthHawk wrote:I think RBs early is a good thing. The best ones go early and knowing that Carson was dealing with a serious injury and we will have to rely on the run game because of the limited QB talent, RB became a bigger need than maybe it otherwise was.
I’m on record saying that we missed on both Chubb and Taylor when we knew we had to depend upon the run game in Carroll’s vanilla
Offense, so it’s mind boggling that they didn’t consider a top RB as a priority. Too many missed games by our starters should have
sent a huge message that we needed an injection of top talent in a position critical to Pete’s Offensive philosophy of running the ball.
NorthHawk wrote:If we had a pass happy Offense I would agree with you, but Pete wants a run first Offense and that elevates the position to a higher priority.
Old but Slow wrote:River, you bring back memories. Early '70's I moved from Wenatchee to Kennewick for a job. Thirty straight days over 100 degrees. Up to about 110 at one point. I moved into an unfurnished apartment and slept on a rubber mattress right under the air conditioner. Thank dog it wasn't a swamp cooler.

The realist in me says that the one who starts will be the most mobile. Pass protection will be poor to fair, and much will be rely on the running game, but at times the QB will need to make timely throws. If the quick pass is not there, then throwing on the run becomes important. I would suggest that Geno has the edge.
We need to be patient in these early days, when everybody is great and all the rookies look like starters, and we have some decent depth, but, as I said "early days".

Don’t know about the other guys but I’ve heard Wyman say Geno just doesn’t impress in practice . I find that weird that he is still employed here if that’s the case . I find it interesting that EB would start him over the other 2 . Pretty dismal sounding qb report but it’s early . I remain optimistic until given reasons not to be .

Geno signed a 1 year contract because no one else much wanted him. He knows how to run our offense enough to make the game watchable. He'll be back to backup or possibly gone as soon as John and Pete draft their "guy."
