"Q: Do the Seahawks keep Demarco Murray under 100 yards this week?

A: No, they don't. If there is a weakness to this Seattle defense, it's their run defense."

Video here:

Seahawks rushing defense #1 in the league to this point: http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/ ... on/defense

Reflect on that before using "BUT THOSE GUYS AGREE WITH ME" in an argument.

Futureite hardest hit.

I think I got it right (see after the forward slash). It's an embedded video there at the top of that page.

This will be a tough test for our run Defense - and our Defense as a whole. The Dallas OL is big and playing well and our DL is smaller and quicker.
It will be an interesting test of skills.

They must have been thinking about last year's defense. This season, the run defense has been solid. Kevin Williams has helped immensely and Wagner and Wright are playing the best run defense of their careers.

Riv, no offense but come on man!
You KNOW they're not THINKING AT ALL!
They are just shouting out what they are hearing in the echo chamber of "sports analysts". If they took less than 30 seconds to look up the statistics, they would know what a stupid comment that is, but they cannot be bothered because "hey, it's common knowledge that Seattle's weakness on defense is the run!"

It's not even stupidity (at least not usually...) it's just sheer LAZINESS, and relying on opinions, and commonly held misconceptions that causes these pinheads to say the stupid things they do.

That's kinda my point, and what I always pointed out to Futureite when he pulls the "I FOUND A TALKING HEAD THAT AGREES SO I MUST BE RIGHT" nonsense.

The vast majority of those guys don't know jack about half the teams they talk about*, and just pull out stuff they heard at some point in the past and pontificate with it like they're gurus.

*And I can't blame them- I wouldn't be able to sit through that much video of teams I didn't follow unless the payday for doing so was way, way, WAY into six figures.

Well, as you can see I agree with your point, but I'm a bit more charitable, I guess. :)

I was being sarcastic. Hell, I hadn't even looked at the stats and knew that our defense was much improved against the run. Any moron could see it. It's inexcusable for a publication not to know basic facts like that.

Does inexcusable mean commonplace?

The argument I heard on NFLN was that the Hawks are not that good on run D. Stats show they are, but they are usually scoring more points and the other team has to pass more to catch-up.

WHATEVER. Our run D is solid and this week will be a great big test. In the first 1/4 of the season (not taking opponents into account), the Cowboys have demonstrated a more balanced attack then either of the two teams that gave us the biggest trouble (San Diego and Denver). It should prove interesting and I am looking forward to the battle. I think we will learn a lot about the Cowgirls this weekend and we will learn a lot about ourselves. Will we reduce the errors, will we crank up the pressure on the QB, will we be able to slow down that intermediate dink/dunk stuff that has been working well against our D, will Romo be able to make explosive plays like Cousins did?

I am expecting to see a more consistent effort on O with fewer errors. If Percy plays, I expect at least a TD from him. I think we score 30 or more.
I am expecting the D to shore up some of the things that have gotten past em (outside from 2 plays against the Skins, they were super solid). I expect at least 2 take-aways and I expect the Cowboys to be held to 24 or less.

That would explain the low YPG, not the low YPA. NFLN fail.

PS- like your new avatar, Sis. :)

Thanks for the compliment. We sure didn't look very good today. Hats off to Murray.
