It's interesting the regional hate of specific teams across the world - by people who probably don't know much about NFL Football.

Many people throw the word "hate" around a lot more loosely than I do. I don't "hate" the Niners or Cowboys. They are my two least favorite teams.

Living in Fargo I find it amusing that, in Minnesota, the most hated team is the Packers, while the most hated team in Wisconsin, is the Bears, and not the Vikings, who are always losers. I find it even more amusing that in North Dakota, the most hated team is, THE VIKINGS!

People in this state are either Vikes fans, Vikes haters or, like the majority, both fans AND haters. It's a true love/hate relationship, one I find no end of hilarious. (They should have been smart like me, and become a Seahawks fan at age 6

Poor stupid Vikings and their poor stupid fans.

Hey that was us a couple decades ago ... The Raiders (or Bronco's, take your pick) were our most hated team but we didn't even register on their list.

The Arrogance of Niners fans recognise no boundaries, I'm fairly confident they spent time explaining that the championships in rugby pale in comparison to their "dynasty" from yesteryears, and explained how fools like them couldn't possibly know what they are talking about in terms of football, the rules, or actual football play....

Monkey, having lived in Minot for 4 years and Moorhead for 5 (including 4 at Concordia) and having my wife's family in Bismarck, I was also amused to find that the Vikes are the most hated team in the Dakotas, because they are also easily the most loved. But even Vikes fans can't match Browns fans for simultaneously loving and hating their team.

I could cope, and in fact would be ecstatic to be "the" team most hated across the country. Teams like the Browns, Lions etc aren't hated because no one fears, or is in the least bit jealous of them. To draw that universal ire, you have to be doing something right

At first, I was offended by the "Cheaterhawks" and "Seadderall" cheat stuff that seems so prevelant at this point, and then I realised it's a compliment, because fans from other teams are latching onto that excuse to mitigate their jealousy of how truly dominant and exceptional this team is! LOVE IT! Bring it on......

LOL! Everybody love a loser, like the Chicago Cubs. Which MLB team do you "hate" more, the Cubs or the Yankees? A lot of us "hate" teams because of their success.

But there's other reasons why fans "hate" certain teams. Personally, I don't like the California invasion of the Northwest, so I am inclined to dislike any team from CA. I used to like the Cowboys, but I can't stand their owner. I'm sure there are other reasons why different fans dislike certain teams.

I think the fact that those regions harbor dislike for the niners is due to their proximity to St Louis, at least that's my best guess.
