Apparently a bone spur that he has played through for some time. They hope to have him back before the end of pre-season.

I hope they don't try to wave him like they did Bowie.

Yea, no kidding, although I hear that Bowie reported to camp way out of shape...where have we heard that before from an offensive lineman?
Richardson has been slowed by injury in training camp, too.

I doubt they allow him off that roster at least this year. He was displaying some skills, and it isn't like they are desperate for bodies at WR. They have plenty. Though I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see the Hawks "redshirt" him this season while carrying an extra receiver like Phil Bates or Lockette for their special teams play.....

I am betting he is back before the end of pre season and he makes the team, not redshirted. He displayed some big stuff before he was slowed and his toughness playing with the injury showed a lot.

Definitely possible, just was saying it wouldn't surprise me if they wanted to not expose a guy to the practice squad or waivers.... ala Tharold Simon and Ware last season, if there is any doubt on the Seahawks part I could see them waiting until after the 26th and Ir'ing him... They have shown a willingness to do that with young players they don't feel can contribute right away, that they want to keep... doesn't mean I would be surprised to see him catching passes against GB either.

I brought this up in another thread, originally I said it would be Lockette, Walters and Mathews fighting for the 6th spot, though with all the raves about Bates, I'm still kind of leaning toward Norwood starting on the PUP or getting placed on IR ( protecting him from being claimed after the 26th), with Baldwin, Kearse,Harvin,Richardson being locks, and Lockette, Walters,Bates, Mathews etc fighting for those last two spots ( at least through week six, when Norwood would be available to return, at which point they could assertain him, and decide to move him to IR if both guys were performing better than him at that point) wouldn't be surprised in the least to miss that, but they have shown a willingness to do that with young players before.
