Niner fans probabably voted for him in spades. ;)

I voted for him. Calvin Johnson had one of the best seasons in NFL history the year he was on the cover. I don't believe in curses. This whole thing reminds me of the supposed SI cover jinx... people used to talk about it like it was real but conveniently ignored that the two people to grace the cover most often were Michael Jordan and Muhammed Ali. How'd that work out for them again?

I said that tongue in cheek btw.

Anyone that believes in curses becomes a slave to the curse.
Happy for Sherman though, the guy worked hard to deserve it.

Sherman obviously didn't believe in the curse because he sure is happy to grace the cover.

There was obviously a disturbing trend, though Megatron certainly shattered that, so here's hoping it trends the other way, and Sherman breaks the record for picks in a season or something :).

Agreed, many of these guys end up on the Madden cover during the peak of their NFL career. Shaun Alexander was a prime example. Big endorsements, big money, if and you're smart with it, you're set for life. Could that be part of the trend? S.A. started falling down five yards before a tackle the year after, was it a curse? Keep the "concussion bank" low so you can still be coherent when you're 65, keep the "financial bank" high while you're still smart enough to do it.

I'm totally implying things here, but it's just a thought. I just hope Sherman performs like he did last year...and everything I've said above is rubbish.

Wouldn't that be nice? (If he doesn't break a leg). :? :o
