Week 2

Week 2 kicks off tonight, with Prime Video hosting their first live game of the season, and it's a good one, Packers vs. Commanders. Both teams won decisively last weekend, with the Packers defeating the Lions, who have won their division the past two seasons, by two touchdowns 27-13, and the Commanders beating the hapless NY Giants by a nearly identical margin of two touchdowns 21-6.
I'm going to have to multitask tonight as the Mariners seem to have finally shaken the sand out of their shoes and have won 5 in a row after having lost 6 of their previous 7 games and I'm trying to get my heart back into baseball. I'm not sure how I'm going to manage it. Normally, I'd sit in front of my TV with a game on my tablet and one on the big screen, but I like sitting out on my deck in the evenings this time of year. I might have to dust off my old tablet and see if I can't get one of the games on that device.

First world problems... It could be worse having 2 radios to listen to both games.

Yeah, trying to multitask and listen to two games on radio would be a challenge.

The Packers have opened their season by beating another playoff team last night. The Micha Parsons trade looks like it's paying off as he was a major factor in their defense even though he recorded just .5 sacks. At 2-0, they have to be one of the early favorites in the NFC. Anybody have Tucker Kraft on their fantasy team?
I really like the format that the Prime Video app has. They have a 10 second FF/RW feature that reacts instantly, which allows me to start watching the game an hour or so after kickoff and fast forward through the commercials, halftime, and in-between plays. The other providers, like Fubo and Tablo, the other two I use, doesn't have nearly as responsive of a FF/Rew feature.
I'm not optimistic about this weekend's game vs. the Steelers. Witherspoon is out with a knee injury, which is a little scary. It will be DK Metcalf's first appearance against his old team. It's a rare 10am PT start time.

It’s going to be a tough game to win but in the NFL anything can happen.
I would like to see the Offense be more varied than last week and use more runs, play action, pre snap motion and get the TEs involved.

Recent Injury Report is looking grim from the Secondary side.
Julian Love battling a groin injury, which may limit his ability to cover deep.
Witherspoon is now listed as doubtful, I didn't see that till now.
Nick Emmanwori is out, makes sense with his high ankle sprain
Looks like we will get a dose of Shaq Griffin in this game.

Well, our 2nd week is upon us, and I am not very confident we can pull this one off against a well-coached team. I am still on the fence with Klint as our OC, and he needs to show up in this game. There was a lot of talk about him bringing a revolutionary run game from the Kyle Shanahan offense, but from his first showing, it was absolute garbage, and the play calling was predictable. There should have been no excuse with our run game as we most of our offense is fully healthy, minus Bobo, who is a good blocking WR from last week. I can understand the passing game taking some time to get up to speed with a new QB, and two of our veteran WRs are gone. So this week if we can't get the run game going and work the play action.. this will be an easy win for the Steelers. They are without Joey Porter Jr., so if we are missing Spoon, that should almost equalize out the injuries in the Secondary. I can see Steelers running away with this, and DK get's some revenge.
Steelers 31
Hawks 17

I'm not quite as pessimistic as you are, but I still have us losing by two scores. Even without some key players like Witherspoon, I think this defense is good enough to keep the Steelers under 4 TD's. We get Nwosu back today. When healthy, he's our best pass rusher, but that's a big 'if.'
Unfortunately, going 0-2 lowers our chances of making the playoffs to somewhere around 15-20%. The rest of our division has what would appear to be soft opponents: Niners vs. Saints, Rams vs. Titans, and Cards vs. Panthers. We could easily be 2 games out of 3rd place at the end of the day.
Oh, well. At least I've lowered my expectations. Back to being a Debbie Downer.
Steelers 21, Hawks 10.

I think 24-17 Steelers.
We really haven't seen this Offense yet. We saw glimpses of it in pre-season but they went away from it against SF.
The Steelers are without their best CB in Joey Porter and have another injury, but they might have more depth on Defense and they do have a better Pass Rush so that could even things out for them.

Well ain't that something. Crushing the Steelers. I like to crush the Steelers. I have despised them since they won that Super Bowl and started acting like they played great.

well glad to be half right. I predicted the correct scores, just not us winning. Happy to take the win in this.

So we got a score from a muffed kickoff. Thanks Pittsburgh.
Darnold did not look great. Glad we were still able to win.
JSN does look great. That kid is money. I wish we could get a great QB while JSN is hitting his prime. JSN has so much potential. I hate seeing it wasted with bad to average QBs.
