Dissly to IR

It doesn't sound serious, but he's out for the season unless we make the NFCCG:

Seattle placed Dissly on injured reserve Tuesday with an injury head coach Pete Carroll has labeled as a knee contusion, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Though Dissly's injury doesn't sound especially serious, his 2022 campaign will come to an end unless the Seahawks secure a playoff spot and make an improbable run to the NFC Championship Game. The 26-year-old appeared in 15 games this season, recording 34 receptions for 349 yards and three touchdowns on 38 targets. Dissly's absence for the final two games should free up more snaps for Colby Parkinson, who steps in as Seattle's No. 2 tight end behind Noah Fant.

Parkinson is a beast that’s coming on but Diss has a knack for getting wide open and catches the ball great . I know he’s had several season ending knee injuries . Hopefully he can come back . Pete said he hadn’t talked to Lockett yet so he didn’t know if he was going to be able to return this week.. seemed odd they hadn’t spoken . It just gets harder . Geno had real problems with Goodwin in the 2 last week and Diss is his favorite TE already career highs in several categories .

Injury bug when we can least afford it.
We don’t have a lot of depth on most of the team except for maybe the OTs which is an unusual situation for us.
A contusion sounds much less serious than ligament damage so he should be ready for next year.

I'm fine with Seattle shutting down any players that could use more recovery time. Play some of the younger players to see what you got. Prepare for the draft. Teach them to fight for a playoff spot and feel that intensity. Let the chips fall where they will.

Dissly is the best all around tight end on our team. He's a lot better blocker than either Fant or Parkinson, and holds his own as a receiver. IMO he compares favorably to Zach Miller, who IMO is the best tight end we've had as a franchise.

I, too, am good with shutting him down. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't mind it if they shut down a couple other players, like K9. I'm not suggesting that we tank, but I don't want to see a valuable asset lost in a game that isn't likely to produce a playoff seed.

Dissly may be the most under appreciated guy on the team. Watch how he hands catches the ball. Very secure hands, good blocker, and strong runner.

Lots of people weren’t too impressed when he was drafted. Said all he did was block . He and Russ had a great thing going his furst 2 years then he would get hurt . Luckier than penny or Adams but not real lucky nor is Seattle . Play everyone until we are eliminated then whatever. Lockett wants to play , just needs to know if he can handle catching passes . We’re not dead yet . I think we are but it’s why you play .
