Well at 6-3 and red hot it was looking easy , Geno was looking like a dark horse MVP candidate . My 10-7 looked pretty easy .
It’s the show however . Any given Sunday .
Our defense gave it hell for a change but our offense turned to a pumpkin . Throwing behind the sticks on 3rd and 4th down multiple times . Receiver mix ups . A brutal false start call leading to 3rd and 11 and a sack instead of 3rd and 1. A decision to throw to Goodwin with a mile of green in front . Yeah he hit his hands but take the safe thing , the sure thing .

Geno is costing himself millions and raising real doubts as to whether he’s the answer the next couple of years . I think the issues with the line and the sacks he’s taking now are piling up and his play shows it .
Our stats show we had more yards than KC but most were garbage time . Getting Walker loose was good and if he learns not to lose 5 yards on run plays it will be better . Once again a frustrating loss by the most frustrating hard to watch hard to predict Hawks team in my 63 years.

I dunno . It was cold . No Lockett . A very good opponent . We had a TD pass at the half if it’s Lockett . I just don’t know how to predict these guys week to week . One unfortunate constant is that Geno hasn’t been the difference in a good way inn 3 games now . If he’s turning to a pumpkin it’s 7-10 . Tune in next week .

It's a rebuild year. Team needs to keep building on the base they are building like before. Rebuild the D-line and you will see a completely different team next year with our offense wearing people down rather than our defense getting gouged and worn down. You want to be the bully, you gotta be able to bully along the lines including the D-line. Pete isn't going to be the tough guy team again until he puts a bunch of tough, mean bulls along the D-line and front seven.

We were all wrong. I can't remember if I made a prediction or not, but if I did, it wouldn't have been 7 or more wins, more like 5 or 6 at the most. I also didn't anticipate Geno having the season that he did. Kudos for your manning up. 10 wins minimum was a bold prediction.

As usual, the truth ended up being somewhere in between. I can't remember enjoying a .500 season more, and Geno's play--fun, but imperfect--and attitude--perfect--are big reasons why.

I predicted 6 to 8 wins. I also predicted the bad run defense and need for D-line improvement. They might get 9 wins. My predictions aren't really predictions, they are obvious observations based on what the team was doing on the field. I knew it wasn't Ken Norton Jr's fault and it isn't Clint Hurtt's fault. Defense is bad because John and Pete aren't building a quality front seven. Been that way for a number of years. Only change this year was at least the CBs are good again.

I was wrong about Geno. He's not better than Russ, but he's good enough to get the job done at this point with a good team around him. Right now Russ looks like anything but Russ. Not sure if Russ will get back to form, but even Russ of the last 4 or 5 games of last year was better than Geno this year. But Russ in Denver is way worse than Geno, so not sure how that works.

This season had a lot of ups and downs and lots look forward to.

We got two tackles looking great.

K-9 looks great.

Geno looks like a solid starting QB.

Our secondary looks good again with Tariq the Freak anchoring.

The bad that has to be fixed:

The front seven are bad. No consistent pass rush. Can't stop the run consistently. Not controlling the LoS. Gotta get more talent there as Boye Mafe is looking like another big D-line miss. Only guy worth a damn on the D-line is Nwosu and Al Davis. Davis is not the future at 35.

Interior D-line could use some muscle.

We need a starting strong safety who can be that tough box safety so Diggs can get back to be the roving free safety focused on pass defense.


We got draft picks to look forward to fix our issues. As long as our draft picks keep coming along and we can fix the D-line, I think we'll be Super Bowl competitive as soon as next year.

No worries Hawktalk, like Bob said we were all wrong, except for a ASHF he predicted 8-9 wins. I predicted 4!

I predicted that with Geno we would be a middling team not bad enough to draft early and not good enough to go to the playoffs, although Geno did play better than I thought he would, but our defense was worse than I thought it would be. I'm still holding out some hope that we make it to the playoffs at this point, just because why not... the should win at least one of their next two anyways.

I think they'll win both of their next two and maybe slink into the playoffs as the Giants and Commanders are not great. What's going to suck is if Denver finishes strong. Even a single win at this point can change draft position 4 or 5 points. I hope Buffalo and KC keep fighting for the top seed and San Diego is still fighting for the wild card. That will leave the Broncos 5 and 12, which will hopefully be a top 10 pick. Now I gotta do what I hate to do and root for the Rams tomorrow.

If the Giants win next weekend vs. the Colts, they sew up one of the two remaining seeds. Commanders need to win at home vs. the Browns and Cowboys. The 'Pukes might be treating their last game as a bye as there's a good chance the Eagles wrap up their division next week vs. the Saints.

After the LA game tonight, Denver finishes with the Chiefs and Chargers. We'll see how the Chargers play tonight, but both will still be in the playoff hunt and will be pushing hard. I've been rooting for the Rams for the past month or so as they're one of the teams that need to win in order for us to get a better draft slot.

No crow time required. We did way better than many if not most thought we would. I didn't think we would win many more than 5 and it seems we might end up winning 8 or 9 so if you are feasting on Crow instead of Turkey this
