We are playing better but they have Hopkins back, predictions? I think we still win, their pass protection issues are still there, and we are playing a lot better Hawks 31-21.

Obi picks us to win. I can't believe it.

But I will concur. We can beat the Cardinals.

27-10 Seahawks.

The potential matchup of Hopkins and Woolen should be fun.

Yeah, the matchup of Woolen vs. Hopkins will be interesting. I'm not sure if Wollen has been up against a WR with the kind of experience that Hopkins has.

Not unexpectedly, the point spread on this game has dropped. It started out with us as 2.5 point dogs, but that's down to 1.5 as of yesterday.

The first game in our house was relatively low scoring, but I'm expecting that 28 point total to go up significantly. The Cards didn't have Hopkins available in the first game, and Murray struggled. I'm going to go with 34-31 Hawks.

Since the typical spread favors home field by -3, looks like we are slightly favored at +2 when you factor in home field. Having said that, I think this is going to be a tough game. I don't trust Murray, but he is always dangerous, and I would feel better if Woolen was manned up on Hopkins, but I don't think we play man defense that much...do we?

I'm not sure how much of a HFA handicap the bookies give Arizona. It's not like Seattle, Green Bay, or Kansas City. Nearly half the crowd will be Seahawk fans.

Agreed. Some of those games in the desert have sounded like a Seahawks home game.

It's the same with any team that travels well. The Cards have one of the weaker fan bases, so tickets are cheap and easy to come by. Lots of retired folks down there that are fans from their former hometowns/states. Unlike up here in the NW, on NFL Sundays, you see all sorts of different jerseys. Plus November and December in Arizona is really nice, so a lot of visiting fans use it as a wintertime vacation/escape.

The Cards looked like a different Offense with Hopkins playing.
It will be a good test for Tariq Woolen to play against one of the best route runners and a player with great hands.

We get the Bills and the Jets on the WC for our tv game? Really, do we get the Pats vs Colts, or DC vs Vikes, or even as a Duck alum I could watch Herbert vs Marcus, but noooo, we the blowout of the day!

Zona crushed again. They aren't in our league. Now we see if the Rams can stop us because they gotta play catch up now.

Sure unlike Zona their problems are fixable, but I think We win the first one, once they get all their people back they win the 2nd one, but who knows.

First time no doubt, 2nd depends on how many of their people they get back. We were lucky HT, Zona's whole Oline is out, otherwise they would have won. ;)

I always hear that , much of the time on the forum . We got “ lucky “.
We gifted them 14 points in 2 games including the first pick 6 as a Seattle starter for Geno . We lost a bell cow back and our starting strong safety this year , played the second half vs the Giants minus our starting center and have rotated guards throughout the last couple games . We were clearly the superior team , made our luck. Beat them in all 3 phases .
It’s a really good team the last 4 games . We lead the league in explosive scoring plays over 20 yards and have the #1 scoring defense last 4 games . It’s legit. Championship contenders .

To win a championship, teams have to be lucky. There's an old expression that you have to be lucky to be good and good to be lucky.
In NFL terms, it's getting the right call or non call, not losing a fumble or a dropped interception, and the biggest one is to avoid the injury bug in a big way.
We got lucky in the draft in that nobody selected the players we took after round 1. Lucas in R3 might be one of our best selections in the past 10 years and
we were lucky that nobody took Coby Bryant (the DB of the year in college) before the 109th pick. And, of course hitting on Tariq Woolen who was expected
to sit and learn his craft before showing he was more than a swing for the fences type of pick.
Good teams are lucky and we are very fortunate that the rest of the league didn't think our picks were worthy of being selected before we did.
That's not to say it wasn't good drafting as clearly it was, but other teams identify players very well, too. I hope they've learned something and don't fall into the hubris trap of 2014 and beyond.

Against Arizona we were the better team. They look to me like another team that's in disarray and it wouldn't surprise me if Kingsbury was invited to leave if they have a losing season.
What we did well on Offense was bunching Receivers, dragging TE's across the middle and throwing to them, we kept on hitting those same plays because AZ didn't seem to know how to
adjust to stop them. Along with pre snap motion and pressuring the edges, this Offense is doing things I've been asking for for 10 years. Had we evolved into just some of what we do today
we may have won more than 1 Lombardi and been to more championship games. The sad thing is this Offense doesn't doesn't have to be riskier than any other. It's just a lot of window dressing'
to make the Defenses think before reacting and it can easily fall under Pete's conservative umbrella.

Fair evaluations...Kingsbury as well as their GM were given contract extensions just this past off season so removing either will be an expensive Cardinal ownership problem...but their fan base is screaming for the "blood" of both of these men.

The "window dressing" you refer to is what keeps the bootleg rollout passing to the "uncovered" TE (not really uncovered...just late for defensive response) consistently available. As for our coaches conservatism Pete stressed that when he requires a good running game in his formula for success he is talking about 3rd and 4th quarters...and K9 excels in the 4th quarter when given NFL comparisons ( the TV crew said he was 2nd in the NFL for 4th quarter production). Good solid team effort as we move forward and upward...Go Hawks!

K 9 leads all skill position players in 4th quarter touchdowns . Seattle leads the league in explosive TDs 20 or more yards . Also we currently have the #4 scoring offense in the league despite scoring 17 week 1 and being shut out week 2. In the last month we have the #1 scoring defense in the league at around 13 ppg. Yesterday we had 11 players !!!grade a 60 or better Pff.
It’s a freak show all of a sudden .
Hottest team in the league not named the eagles .

Arizona is in complete disarray, now having lost 4 of their last 5 games. Had it not been for that horrendous Pick 6 that they were the beneficiaries on, Geno's worst play of the season and arguably the worst of his career with us, it would have been a rout. We saw two teams on completely opposite trajectories, one angling for a division championship while the other is on a runaway train heading for a washed out bridge.

Kylar Murray was horrible, adding his name to a list of highly paid QB's that are severely underperforming. I thought that our defense played him very well, kept his running to a minimum, did a great job of stopping the Cards rushing attack as their running backs gained just 62 yards on the ground. DeAndre Hopkins was limited to just 36 yards on 4 catches, although he did burn us for a TD. But he had much less of an impact than what some were expecting.

I'm still hesitant to call us a favorite as we have to beat the other teams in our division, ie the Niners and Rams, before we can lay claim to our rightful position as king of the NFC West hill, but it's looking better each week. Like the Cards, the Rams, too, have now lost 4 of their last 5 games. The Niners are still there lurking, and are about to get a bunch of their injured starters back and are just one game off the pace in the loss column. But our outlook keeps improving.

See the glass half full or half empty . I don’t play good team bad team . Vegas had them favored and it wasn’t close .
I see at least half full on your horrible play Geno sucked viewpoint.

For the second game AZ got a lot of pressure on Geno . He was hit , knocked down , sacked repeatedly .

Yeah he threw a bad ball and it went to the house . It’s his 4th pick in 12 starts here .

What I see as an unbiased analyst is a man who played almost perfect football the rest of the way , burning Zona with his arm , legs and mind .

First game 19 points . Second 31. 421 yards of offense . 3 straight TD drives to end the game . It was an elite performance . Our quarterback is as good as anyone . MVP candidate

I’ve been pushing for more “window dressing “ for at least 5 years. It’s all part of pre-snap motion,
different formations, and that it gives the Defense more to think about and prepare for when facing
such an Offense. It can easily fall under Pete’s conservative umbrella yet we never really deployed
it in favor of the same formations and plays. As the opponents became familiar over the years our Offense became
easier to defend from a schematic PoV. Everyone knew for the most part what we were going to do.

Carrol revealed they didn't use wrist bands because there was resistance from previous guy. They do now and the offense is better than its been in forever, maybe more CONSISTENT than anytime in Russel time here. Is it possible they limited window dressing to accommodate and not confuse Russ? Asking for a friend. The same OC last 2 years, way different results.

Wrist bands has nothing to do with the creation of or use of a more varied Offense.
Pete restricted this Offense because he didn't understand it nor agree with it. We heard about it from Greg Olsen and saw it in 2020 when Schottenheimer opened it up.
It's just taken Pete 10 years and 3 or 4 missed opportunities to go deep into the playoffs for him to finally see that it makes things work a lot better in today's NFL.

That take doesn't jive with what Shane Waldron said about the wrist band:

I heard what Pete said about the wrist band . That’s all . We didn’t use it that’s a fact . And I listened to the entire interview and not sure what point you think was made ? Waldron says it’s a huge help but they didn’t use it last year because different people did different things . Sounded like a politically correct statement from the next hot OC in the off-season getting interviews . Pete says “ there was resistance before “ from who ? Elmer Fudd ? Or his highness ?
