He was the NFC Offensive Player of the Week in Week 2. The guy is electric, plays a lot like Tyreek Hill. Plus the Lions are going to be without their starting running back, D'Andre Swift, another dynamic player.
Hawktawk wrote:Well one of 2 things has to change . We gotta score more or give up less . It sounds like their stud wideout may be hurt but their offense has been legit . They should have beaten the Vikes . I dunno it should piss off any team to be a 6.5 underdog any week but it hasn’t made any difference . Be angry all you want if you aren’t good enough to do something about it .
I don’t know at all . I had us winning a shootout 31-27 last week . We were a TD short but close . I’ll say Geno builds off his 325 yard performance and shuts some yaps for a week anyway . Riding a good run game he throws for 419 yards and 3 TDs. 2 rush TDs . Woolen picks off Goff . 37-24 hawks .
Hawktawk wrote:Geno led the league in game winning drives as a rookie with 3. Just because the new Geno hasn’t led a a GWD doesn’t mean he isn’t capable of it . His overall game is no resemblance to the innacurate turnover machine he was as a rookie . We were close Sunday , close vs a couple teams last year . He’s due . If we run and Geno doesn’t slump we’re gonna score some points . Maybe this week .
RiverDog wrote:To start out with, I'll be in attendance. A group of us make a point to go to at least one road game and one home game per season, and Detroit was on the list. We'll also go to a Tigers baseball game on the prior evening.
The Lions started the season by scoring touchdowns in 11 straight quarters, a string broken in the 4th quarter of their game against the Vikings. They're 1-2, losing their two games by a combined 7 points. One of their losses came at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles, one of two undefeated teams in the league. Their offense is led by a familiar face, former Rams QB Jared Goff. His favorite target is a dynamic, Tyreek Hill-like receiver by the name of Amon-Ra Saint Brown. With 23 receptions on the season, he has over twice the number of catches as the next most popular pass catcher. Brown also has 2 rushing carries for 68 yards. Detroit is currently the 3rd ranked offensive team in the league, racking up over 400 yards per game.
Their defense is another story, a negative image of their offense. After 3 games, the Lions have given up an average of 31 ppg, the worst in the league. They have given up almost exactly the same number of yards (408 per game) as their offense has gained (409 per game).
The betting line is that the Lions are favored by 6.5 points.
My guess is that we lose this one, 31-20. I can't see our offense keeping up with the Lions.

RiverDog wrote:Thanks for the well wishes, but it's going to take more than this one game for me to change my mind about Geno. He's a 33% QB, wins one then loses two, meaning that he's due for a win in one of his next three 3 games.
My flight leaves tomorrow morning. We're going to a Tigers baseball game Saturday evening. There's 5 of us total, and we're renting an Airbnb. The Henry Ford Museum is on the agenda, too.
Aseahawkfan wrote:Geno been in the league ten years on multiple teams. He's a known quantity by coaches and GMs. Any coach expecting too much of Geno is going to be disappointed, period, end of story.
If you're a GM and making your Super Bowl plans around Geno, you should be fired as soon as possible and laughed out of the league.

Aseahawkfan wrote:Have fun, RD. Hopefully we don't lay an egg against Detroit. My prediction is already off for the season as I expected us to beat Atlanta at home. If we lose to Detroit on the road, well, damn, we're going to need to beat one of the good teams to get that back.
RiverDog wrote:Thanks, ASF. Road trips are a kick! You get to talk with fans from other team's fan bases, see another part of the country, etc. Outside of the airport, I've never been to Michigan. The Henry Ford Museum should be interesting, too. It's huge, covers 250 acres. A friend of mine said it has to be a bucket list item.
The Atlanta loss is concerning as all the other teams on our schedule look stronger. But who knows. As we discussed in another thread, the start to this season has been very strange, and it may take longer than usual for teams to sort themselves out. With as much doom and gloom as a lot of us have predicted, there's still a chance that we could catch lightning in a bottle. Stranger things have happened.

My wife wants to leave early Sunday but I want to watch Seattle’s offense come alive in a big win over Detroit . There are ongoing negotiations but no resolution at this point . What should I do ?river be at the game I be blowing 30 years of marriage over a terrible Seahawks team and a terrible Detroit team that will probably beat us 115 to -20 and not win again . It really sucks being a Seahawks fan sometimes . I guess it’s payback for the last decade .

I don’t like missing games . I’ve maybe missed 10 in over 40 years either on tv , on the radio or in person . I was elk hunting above white pass and drove to naches to listen to us lose to a terrible cardinal team back when they were in st Lois . I remeber being in thr car on the way to the coast 28 years ago and having to listen to the 0-4 chargers beat my hawks . I got it bad .

One option could be to listen to the game on the radio on the way down to Hood River. That, or leave REAL early and get down there before the game. What is it, 4 hours from your place to Hood River? Leave at 6am.

I'm revising my prediction to 22-21 Hawks. I think we come away with a victory today
