Positives:
1. His passes were accurate for the most part
2. Good field vision. He kept his eyes downfield to spot open receivers when he had to scramble.
3. Good mobility. Better than I expected, in fact. He's not Fran Tarkenton but he's certainly not a sitting duck.
4. Good decision making for the most part. Except for one or two times, he didn't try to force a throw into coverage.
5. Good leadership. I sensed he was in control of the huddle and was seizing the moment to lead.

Negatives:
1. Lacked pocket awareness and peripheral vision. Yes, left tackle Cross wiffed a couple of times but there were two or three other times when he maintained contact with the DE long enough that, had Geno stepped up in the pocket, he would have avoided the sack.

All of what you said, plus for the most part, Geno stepped up into the pocket, allowing his tackles to push the edge rushers around him. On too many occasions, Russell would try to spin out of a pass rush and break the pocket to his right or left, cutting down his options and sometimes running into a sack. He also distributed the ball well, with 8 receivers all getting at least two targets.

A couple negatives. Whether it be on Geno or the scheme, he hardly ever took shots downfield. I haven't seen a passing chart, but I don't remember any passes at 30+ yards downfield save for one target to Metcalf that yielded a PI call. He also got away with a horrible decision to throw late to his right as he was rolling left. Needs to work on running a QB sneak.

Most of his success was in the first half. He came back to Earth in the second half as Denver shut us out. We had a critical 3-and-out with 5 minutes left in the game. Of course, not all of that is on Geno.

Geno played like PC would hope he played. No high risk throws, easy basic completions, etc. He played like a $7 mil QB. In the second half they played not to lose. He wasn't going to take a risk in the second half- and he didn't which is a major reason we had trouble moving the ball in the second half. He managed the game well and played basically how I thought he would. Good enough to not lose the game... We'll see if he can play well enough to win us a game, which I suspect he can not. If not we will be a middling team who isn't bad enough to draft early or good enough to be a serious SB threat.

My opinion has not changed. I'd fast forward through this year if I could. We got the only win I care about.

Geno is a backup. Even when he plays one of his best games, we put up 17 points and win by 1 point at home. If that had been Russ back there, Tyler and DK would have caught that back corner end zone pass and gotten their feet in bounds on that sideline TD. Denver's pass catchers don't have the chemistry or touch yet for Russ's tight passes into the red zone. They're going to need to work on that. If Russ had been back there, we put up a 40 burger on Denver.

But if we still had Russ, we would not have those tackles and that young CB playing like Sherm. So I guess we'll see where this takes us down the line.

Geno completed 18 of his first 19 passes . His 95.5 % completion rate was the highest in any one half since Matt Hasslebeck in 2000. There were 2 sacks , both on him . He took what was there . He was excellent with his feet . Second half the team that was a qb away clamped down and shut us down . But no mistakes pressing by Geno . He played far better then at least half the guys Sunday . Seemed more in command than other previous dude . Like I said after his drive vs the Rams . That guy plays like a starter . My guess over his past 2 regular season contests he’s completed 75+ % of his passes for 4 TDs and a rush TD, qbr over 110, zero turnovers . I know nobody’s eating the crow but it’s right in front of you

Geno needs 5 more wins to tie Russ record . We were 6.5 home dogs but a close win Geno sucks . Gotcha
