I'd never boo the guy. He's too good a guy. I have too much respect for Russ and the way he lives his life.
Good luck, Russ. But you knew we had to do anything and everything we could to win this. It's the game. I'm sure you understand.
Russ will always be classy and as River said, will be PC in his interviews.
I can't imagine any Seahawks fan not having a place in their heart for Russ for all he did in Seattle both on and off the field.
However, that being said, I was OK with the smattering of boos he got last night. It was gametime and he had enemy colours on. Mental warfare? Would booing him effect him? He would never admit it but you know he heard them and that has to effect anyone making a return. As Pete said, the fans "competed" and were all in on winning a football game. The boo'ing probably came across as classless by many experts and fans of other teams, but I don't see it that way. Last night was not the time to have a lovey dovey return for Russ and cheer for him at any point.
I hope one day after he retires he is welcomed back and put in the ROH and at that point gets the ovation he truly deserves from the fans, I believe he is definitely worthy of that.
And Asea, will give you props. You called a Hawks win and the reason was because of coaching, moreso that Hackett was a rookie coach who would probably make mistakes. And boy did he ever butcher it at the end of the game. First game as head coach his mind was probably spinning at that point and he lost focus. And even in his post game presser, he looked like a nervous coach as talked really fast, was breathing heavily into the microphone when he wasn't talking, his heart rate was probably through the roof. He looked the entire part of a rookie head coach.
