At last!
First score of the first Sunday: Joe Burrow's first passing attempt was a pick 6 vs. the Steelers. Jags kick a FG after Trevor Lawrence overthrew a wide open receiver in the end zone. Not exactly the greatest of starts for the young guns.

A lot of sloppy football. I think this 3 game preseason and a week pause before game 1 is going to take some adjustments.

Agreed about the sloppy football. Perhaps some of it is due to the fact that so many of the regulars didn't take a single snap in the preseason.
TJ Watt is having a good game, a tackle for loss and an incredible interception, Joe Burrow's 2nd of the first half. Just watching the Redzone, it seems like there's been a lot of interceptions. Matt Jones looks like crap but so does Tua. Jalen Hurts had 50 yards rushing in the first quarter. Burrow now has 3 turnovers in the first half.

Yeah hopefully one team looks real sloppy . I caught Aikman the other day talking about the first team sitting preseason around the league . He was surprised Russ didn’t at least have a few series with a new team , coach and offense . Aikman said he always wanted as much time in preseason as he could get “ I felt I needed the work “
I get it , with the money now the risk of injury is so great teams don’t take chances .
Whatever you think of Mutt Dog he’s taken snaps and hits and run the offense . Hopefully it’s a bit of a leveling of the playing field tomorrow . My buddy and I are so jacked !

Yeah, well Mutt Dog didn't play with a 17 game schedule and expanded playoffs, either.
Trevor Lawrence is looking just horrible, missed another open receiver it the end zone, then on the next snap, had a RB drop a relatively easy one. To this point, Lawrence is 6-15.

Yeah, I just saw Carson Wentz screw the pooch, too. Niners sure took a dump in the 2nd half. Trey Lance doesn't look good at all. Horrible play calling everywhere. TJ Watt is a beast.
There could be a huge controversy in Pittsburgh. The Bengals appeared to have scored a TD that wasn't reviewed then were kept out of the end zone. Normally on a close play, they call it a TD so it will get reviewed as a scoring play. Not sure why the Bengals didn't challenge the play.

Wow, Bengals-Steelers is a fantastic, although sloppy game! Going into OT.

This is exactly why I think we split with the 49ers at least. Trey Lance not an NFL level QB. Even Geno has proven he can at least play backup level ball, which is more than Trey Lance has shown.

Not that it's an excuse, but the field conditions in Chicago looked pretty bad.

My buddy told me it was raining heavy there. So I guess we see how he does in better conditions. Trey Lance not impressive to me.

Choke time for kickers. Bengals kicker had a walk off XP blocked then missed an XP range FG in OT. Colts kicker missed a walk off badly from 42 in OT. Steelers kicker doinked his walk off from 52.

Yeah, it rained heavily before the game and there was a lot of water on the TV camera lense, so it had to be a quagmire out there. Take a look at this picture:

Yeah, Burrow turned the ball over 5 times and was sacked 7 times, with at least a couple of those being avoidable.
Bad news for the Steelers. TJ Watt may have a torn peck muscle. He was a one man wrecking crew in that game.

Trey Lance's stat line was 13/28 for 164 yards, 0 TD/1 INT, 54 yards rushing on 13 carries, but as was mentioned, we need to asterisk the field conditions. From what I saw of him, Trevor Lawrence looked horrible. His final numbers were 24/42 for 275 with 1 TD 1 INT. Joe Burrow's numbers were 33/53 for 338, 2 TD's with 4 INT's and 1 lost fumble, 7 sacks for 39 yards.
In the afternoon session, Mahomes is having a good day, 18/22 for 174 yards with 3 TD's no INT's and no sacks all in the first half. Zona's defense looks lost. We could be in first place by default by the end of the day.

Well, they were playing the Chiefs, one of the top teams in the AFC, but I agree on all counts. All 3 of our division foes have lost their opener.
Tough day for kickers. I just watched the Titans lose on a very makable 47 yard FG attempt, they even ran the ball into position for him. And those guys don't have inactivity during the preseason as an excuse.
I'm picking the 'Pukes to pull off the upset. I can't stand the Cowboys and I can't stand Tom Brady.

I bet the giants were as big a dog as Seattle is tomorrow . Saquon Barkley went for over 150 and they rushed for almost 300 yards . Outscored titans 21-7 second half . It’s why they play the games .

The Titans had multiple occasions to put that game away and couldn't. Horrible play call on a 3rd and 1 with 6 minutes and up by 7 in the 4th that ended a drive, ran a tight end jet sweep that got stuffed instead of giving it to Henry. Best short yardage back in the league and they run horizontally.

I think this is a lot of the reason for the sloppy play across the league we saw today. That, and starters being held out during preseason as was said. It will just take longer for teams to get in sync but there is one more game to the season so it will all come out in the wash.
I also put no stock whatsoever in the upsets we saw today. It's not uncommon for good teams to get off to slow starts. Brady and NE used to do it regularly. TB did it year before last and won the SB. The good teams will be good again and the pretenders will fall along the wayside.

Today was absolutely absurd really. This week for that matter. Several “power” teams were dominated or lost. Arizona was completely outmatched by the Chiefs. Dallas completely outmatched by the Bucs. The Packers holy hell. Niners looking horrible in Chicago. This all started with Rams completely outmatched by Bills.
Now the Seahawks have a chance to take the division lead. Such a classic Carroll thing to do! Let’s go, make it happen tomorrow night. Also grateful to the free* ticket to attend the game!

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath, either. But after watching all the games via the Redzone, this first week is a real crap shoot, and tonight may be more of the same.
Dak Prescott looked like crap last night. As the announcers pointed out, he has very little talent at WR, but that's no excuse as he was off target for most of the night, finishing 14/29 for just 134 yards, 0 TD's, 1 INT, sacked twice. Zeke Elliot got just 11 touches. Brady didn't look like the GOAT, either. Poorly played game from an offensive perspective.

River, I would never want to see any player injured, but sorry, I think Dax is lucky. He cannot carry this team this year, he still gets paid, and no one is going to blame him for an injury in a season that is bust anyway. Does that make sense?

Yeah, Jerry Jones said that Dak will be out "for a while". Yesterday AM, I had seen a post on Facebook showing the Cowboys as being the only NFL team that was eliminated from the playoffs in Week 1. It could turn out to be true. Their backup QB sucks.

In his brief time last year Geno looked better than over half the guys I watched yesterday . Dare say he was a bit sharper in Pittsburgh last year than the SB runner up at home . But that ain’t sain much either . Gawd

but here we are game day against a team that was a quarterback away . If Russ can go in here cold with a new roster and coach and look good and win tip of the cap to him. It’s not gonna be easy .

I think the only teams that looked really in sync yesterday, ready to start the season, were KC and Vikings. Most of the other teams looked like they were in the first week of training camp.

In addition to those two teams, I thought that the Chargers looked pretty good in beating the Raiders, a team that went to the playoffs last season. The Bolts didn't turn the ball over and committed just 5 penalties for a measly 21 yards, Hebert was 26-34 with 3 TD's and no INT's, defense picked off Carr three times and sacked him 5 times.
