Didn't we draft Rick Mirer number one or two decades ago?

You’re correct HT, Mirer did look promising his rookie year. What the hell happened after that? I was in high school so I kind of lost track of them! Seems like the next thing I knew Warren Moon was our quarterback.
But yeah, Denver is not losing the most games next year lol. They definitely will not win it all of course
I saw Steve Raible answer that question about Mirer. In his rookie season, they 'dumbed down' the offense for Mirer, which allowed him to succeed by connecting on simple routes and reads, but in later years as they started to try to expand it and add more complexity, Mirer could never keep up with the changes. The implication was that for what ever reason, Mirer either didn't work very hard at it or wasn't very football smart.
