Retires . What is his legacy ? Well there’s the sex allegations for sure . A gift Super Bowl with surely one of the worst winning performances ever . But then another. Then a loss . Lots of wins and records . One of the hardest men to get on the ground ever . He held out on every play trying to make something happen . Tough as nails . Nice deep ball . Obviously HOF but I’d like to see him wait a few years due to the serious off field conduct .

I've never thought of Worthlessburger as HOF material as he's never been considered the best at his position, which in my book is, or rather should be, a prerequisite, but he's likely in based on his longevity and two rings.

On the moral issue of him having to wait a couple years and not be a first ballot, I agree. They made Terrell Owens wait simply because they didn't like his antics and he was never accused of committing a crime.

Come on Rivy, I was never a big fan of Rapestberber either, but he is a first ballot HOFamer. 6X Prowbowler, 3 SB's, and 2 Championships. He was also NFL Rookie of the year in 2004. Besides in 5 years no ones going to remember how he hung on too long the last 5 years of his career.

I completely agree he’s first ballot by the numbers . Anywhere from #5 in yards to #8 in TDs all time . But I think he should be punished for committing serious sexual misconduct on at least 2 women at separate times leading to his suspension . If TO got dissed for his attitude Ben should pay for his predatory behavior early in his career.

It's my own pet peeve. We've lowered the bar for HOF inductees in general, quarterbacks especially. I feel that a player should be thought of as at the top of his profession at least once in his career in order to be considered amongst the greatest to have played the game. Worthlessburger has Brady, Manning, Brees, and Rodgers as peers that played in his era and all of whom were lots better.

I understand that there have been players as marginal or worse than Big Ben, including Kenny Stabler and, more recently, Drew Pearson, that got gold jackets, but it still irritates me. It's like grade inflation in schools and colleges.

Sure and I get it, but is Phil Simms a HOFamer? No, but he has 2 Rings an MVP, a SB MVP and 2X Pro Bowler. My criteria is they must be in the top 5 of their position for 2 contracts.

How long has the bar been lowered? Terry Bradshaw was let into the Hall of Fame ages ago. He didn't deserve it at all. He was a first ballot Hall of Famer in 1989. Troy Aikman is in the Hall of Fame and was never close to the best at his position.

Then you put Tom Brady in the same category as Trent Dilfer and Brad Smith when Brady has better statistics than the 99% of QBs in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and was definitely one of the best ever at his position.

You're all over the place. What QB deserves to be in the pro football Hall of Fame? I want to hear your candidates and see how they stack up against the guys you think aren't so good including Brady, the man you categorized at Trent Dilfer or Brad Smith.

Who are these guys? They must be absolutely amazing. I can't think of them myself, but I sure want to hear who they are.

I don’t see how there’s any argument about BB as a first ballot ball of fame qb. There’s some not considered worthy by many for whatever reason . Why shouldn’t Bradshaw be in with 4 titles in 6 years or something ? . And in an era where receivers and quarterbacks were fair game . I saw video of a defensive lineman picking up Bradshaw and pile driving his head into the turf with no flag . He was flopping around in convulsions afterwards .
Aikman won 3 . When you have Emmett Smith and you use him like you should your personal stats aren’t going to be too impressive . But 3 Lombardis don’t lie . He was a great field general , a fiery leader .

I look at guys like Rodgers and Brees and say where’s the beef? Where’s the hardware ? One championship over a decade ago for each , never even got back one time .

Marino was first ballot . He got to one SB in His career and got smoked by Joe Montana. He never got back , never had a 1000 yard rusher his entire career because he never made any pretense of trying to establish the run . That was with one of the greatest coaches of all time .

If HOF is about who has the sweetest stroke on the ball some of these guys don’t belong . If it’s about winning they all do .

Lowering the standards for HOF so as to admit more players is part of the NFL's strategy to generate more excitement and loyalty among the fan bases of the various franchises. It's a corollary to how they do the draft now to generate parity.

I'm with you. That's why I look at Brady at the greatest of all. He got the rings. He has better stats than 99% of QBs in the Hall of Fame. He has the awards including multiple MVPs, Five Super Bowl MVPs, 15 Pro bowls, and everything else.

I'm not sure when the Hall of Fame lowered its standards because as far as I can see, lots of guys in the Hall of Fame who weren't the best at their position in terms of stats. Mostly the Hall of Fame is about rings and/or longevity because yearly stats change often. It's about what you did in your career and how many times you did what needed to be done to win it all.

Ben R. has as good of stats as many Hall of Fame QBs. Better than quite a few. Sure, he's a douchebag off the field. But he has two rings and three trips to the big game, same as Peyton Manning. He has put up some great and consistent numbers over his career. He's probably a top 5 QB of the last two decades after Brady, Manning, Rodgers, and Brees. There's an argument he's that 5th guy and some might argue ahead of Rodgers and Brees due to rings.
