Quandre Diggs Free Angency value and his injury

Quandre Diggs is a free agent but suffered a nasty injury that I'm guessing will prevent him from playing again until the next season has already started. He's 29 years old. What effect do you see this injury having on his value as a free agent and do you think this might shift the scales for him remaining with Seattle another year? He might be available for cheap.

Need to know more about the injury before commenting.

That one was tough. The guy was crying as they took him from the field.

Saw that. Also saw a pic on FB of his foot turned around facing backwards.

Very nasty injury...it had the same sort of eerie feeling as the injury that took out Earl Thomas. Perhaps we can afford Diggs and use the Franchise Tag on Penny?

I could be wrong, but I don't think it's possible to use the FT on a player we declined to pick up his 5th year option on. My understanding is that Penny is a UFA.

The 2022 NFL RB Franchise tag is expected to be around $9.5M.
I doubt we would do that. My guess is we will offer half that or maybe less and another team will offer more in the range of $6-7M.

Diggs has a fractured tibia and a dislocated ankle. What happened? Sounds like hes going to have a very long tough road back if he ever makes it back. one of the best FS in the league

Yeah, you could see it on his face when they carted him off that it was a very serious, potentially career ending injury.
Tyler Lockett recovered on what looked to be a career ending injury and plays at a Pro Bowl level, so maybe Diggs can, too.

Pete said he broke he fibula, not the tibia.
https://komonews.com/sports/seahawks/se ... nee-injury. The fibula is a much smaller bone. A tibia fracture is more serious I think.
A bigger question might be how much collateral damage was done to ligaments and tendons. Bones heal in about 8 weeks but connective soft tissue tears can take much longer.

Hopefully it's a clean break and not a spiral type fracture like Alex Smith.
Either way, it's going to seem like a long road to recovery for Quandre and I wish him the best in his rehab.

This one is disappointing. One of the bright spots of the defense. I hope he recovers. He seems like someone worth keeping. Good teammate and player.
