Week 17

Postby TriCitySam » Sun Jan 02, 2022 6:02 pm

A fun game to watch, this game was kinda the way we started with a fairly easy victory. I like Brooks a lot and Reid played really well - and Penny continues to show the talent was there (props to AP has apparently had an impact)

No secret I believe we will see Pete and Russ next year, although the broadcast gave an interesting quote from Pete. The biggest questions to me relate to talent. DK could cost $25MM; and Bobby a $20MM cap number. Those two could provide the capital to strengthen our OL, secondary and DL. Be interesting to see how they navigate thru this. Biggest issue is closing the talent gap...and no Russ, we don’t want Antonio Brown.

Antonio Brown has played his last NFL game. I hope he gets the hope he needs. He is completely out of control and his behavior tonight seemed to not even have a trigger. I mean, he had caught some passes and made some yards. It wasn't like he was being ignored in the offense. I wonder if he has CTE.

That was truly bizarre. I once advocated that Clay Mathews do that very same thing after an absolutely ridicules roughing the passer call against him, quit football in that same manner, but I never thought anyone would go through with something like that. And I agree, the guy needs help.

For his family's sake I hope he gets some help.
I'm in no way qualified to make any statement on anothers mental health but he has never been able to maintain focus, and we have
seen some of his off field issues arise, too. Maybe he has some undiagnosed issues that meds can help with.

Sadly he’s been much worse since shortly after the cheap shot by Burfect in the WC in 2015. It was intentional going out of his way to put a shoulder pad into Browns head knocking him out cold . It cost the Bengals a playoff win . They are back and then some .

The concern is that something happens to where he really goes off the rails and causes a serious injury to himself or someone else. If he's crazy enough to toss his uniform on the playing field, piss away millions of dollars and a legitimate opportunity to play in the biggest single athletic event on the planet, he's crazy enough to engage in some sort of violence. God, I hope I'm wrong.
