Post game cheerleaders not so cheerful after loss to Bears

Wyman, Babbs and company were more sober and realistic in their analysis last night after the Bears game than I have ever seen them. But I still got this feeling they were ignoring the elephant (or elephants) in the living room.

I've been listening to 710 every day on my way to and from work. They have all been pretty harsh for a while now.

I called this the worst loss ever yesterday and that's really far from true. SB XL or perhaps 49 was the worst loss ever. The bears wasn't even the worst loss of the year. Id say that was the Titans debacle and Russ wasn't hurt then. Second might be the Vikings getting shut out in the second half. Or maybe losing to back to back journeyman with decimated rosters. We are the only team to have blown 2 double digit 4th quarter leads this year, both at home.

This is the worst type of loss imaginable, the worst way to lose to the worst team weve lost to in a long time. All those Seattle talking heads have made a living off of the Hawks run, Salk admitted it yesterday, his career was built on Russell fandom. But he laid it directly at Russ feet" 35 million dollar QB has to make the plays in the game when they were there" They kept rewinding first PCs comments on the sack then Russel's. They were pretty amazed by Russell's cavalier attitude and the fact that PC had said "I have to get the coaches to remind him of that" regarding throwing it away, amazed by the lack of situational awareness by a 10 year veteran 35 million a year guy.

None of these guys are saying blow it up yet. They are personal acquaintances , friends with theses guys, interview them all the time. So Id be curious what they are saying off air. Its bad enough what they are saying on air.

I think they said (on tv) yesterday that big changes need to happen.
It’s the first time I heard Wyman say something to the effect that this team isn’t very good.

SB 49 was the worst for me. In XL, even though we got jobbed, I didn't feel that we were the best team on the field that day, that we didn't bring our "A" game. We lost by 11 points, so I wasn't brought to the edge of the cliff like I was at the end of SB 49.

The Titans game was without a doubt the most disappointing loss of the year. We started out the season by decisively beating the Colts on the road then played a very solid first half against a playoff quality opponent. Things were looking up. The the offense did a complete face plant, and Russell was horrible in OT. It was all downhill from there.

Agreed. It's like these rosy scenario reports that we get out of training camps from beat reporters. They follow the team almost exclusively and don't cover anything but Seahawks, or at least that's the lion's share of their work. If they are honest with their opinions and write a negative article, the subjects, ie players and coaches, will immediately cut them off. But your observation is interesting as it indicates that those local reporters may not feel as threatened, that they might sense that changes are coming and may want to get their opinions out ahead of any changes that are forthcoming.
