DK and Lattimore

I noticed last night how Metcalf was baiting Marcus Lattimore into penalties last night by getting physical with with him coming off the line of scrimmage. Dk was very fortunate in that both times when flags were thrown the refs only saw the back end of the altercations when Lattimore was caught returning the favor. I think DK needs to cut that out. It's going to backfire on him sooner or later. Another example of the mental immaturity element in his game.

Not sure I agree.

First about the first part, I'm sure at least one ref was watching the entire exchange between the two the first time it happened, but DK didn't get flagged because the ball was still in play when DK shoved Lattimore (as I believe was also the case on the second penalty) while Marcus retaliated clearly after the play was over.

And second, I like to see a bit of fire from him, as long as it's him stetting up shop in the other guy's head and not the other way around (which he has allowed to happen on a couple other occasions). Motivation is an important thing in sports, especially when you're as supreme an athlete as DK is. I'd much rather see this than him disinterested and not all the way into it because he feels like he's not getting his targets.

I am leaning towards agreement with Bob. As we know, DK can be immature, & his actions have hurt the team at times but I think that his actions with Lattimore in this game were absolutely directed at getting into his head.

I'll have to be the third person on DK's side....this time. It might not have been by design, but the first PF penalty on Lattimore was drawn by Metcalf.

But I want to see continued discipline from Metcalf. He's made a name for himself, that he's subject to being drawn into situations that often times result in PF penalties. Every trash talking wanna be in the league will be trying to get into his head.

This subject always brings back memories of Steve Largent and Lester Hayes. For all you young'ens, CB Lester Hayes of the bad boys LA/Oakland Raiders, was by far the most notorious trash talker of his era. Hayes said in an interview that he actually wondered if Largent was deaf, because despite being just a few feet away from him, Largent didn't give him any sign at all that he could hear the relentless taunts he was hurling at him. The only clue Largent gave Hayes that he could hear his taunts was after Largent had burned him for a 50 yard reception and, according to Hayes, when Largent got up after being tackled, he was laughing.
