Not a lot of huge surprises. In the past 2 weeks we cut Aldon Smith and Robert Nkemdiche, our 2 big FA pickups. (but we kept Kerry Hyder, that kid from San Francisco, who just may be the steal of the FA for us)
Other cut vets are Damarious Randall & Justin Simmons. ( a little surprising on Simmons)
Unusual Moves: Keeping QB3. Have we ever had 3 QB's?
We kept all those RB's and we have Bellore as a combo FB/LB. That will be interesting as they are supposed to be practicing a no wide-out, 2 tight end 3 RB sets, you remember the Triple Option? Ours would have Bellore in front of Carson and Penny/Collins, behind a 7 man line. We were dead last last year in "3rd and 1" situations... hmmmm.
Only 4 receivers on the Roster in a pass-happy league most teams have 6-7.
Only 3 "real" LB's with combo DE/LB's dominating the 'new' NFL rosters.

AS far as personnel, only time will tell, but it's hard to complain about much at this point. Trust the system.

I'm wondering if they're keeping all those RB's in the hopes of being able to trade one of them. We only kept 4 WR's which seems a little thin.

I'm sure Schneider will make several moves, no way we keep only 4 WR, and would seem unlikely we keep 3 QB's. Big surprise: Malik ('Taxes is Taxes") McDowell makes Browns roster!

That's what I'm thinking, too. It's a poker game.

Possibly, but maybe their tired of having to go to the street at the end of the year to find another RB when the injuries hit. What's it been, 3 years in a row? And now
there's an extra game to wear down our RB's.

I would have just cut Johnson the RB but I guess you can never have too many as we proved 2 years ago.

Maybe they want to do more with the RBs in the passing game.

Well, they've already cut 2: QB Mannion and OG Phil Haynes. And, signed QB Jake Luton; claimed OT Dakoda Shepley and CB Nigel Warrior. I guess there's reasons for doing things like this......Oh, and the Panthers released David Moore.

I just watched Jake Luten 'lead' the Jags against the GB Packers from last year and he didn't look bad at all. Jags had the lead for most of the game. Given that, he looks like a better #3 then Mannion, but I still wonder why we need 3 QB's, when we always only have 2.
