He did make the All Decade team for the 70's which is a strong indication that he was one of the best receivers in his era, but I do agree that his resume is a little bit light with just 3 Pro Bowl appearances, which is obviously why it took him 37 years to get in.

His biggest clam to fame is his push off of the Vikings Safety on a Hail Mary pass.
To be known for cheating isn't something HoF worthy IMO.
If he'd played on any other team outside of perhaps NY, I doubt he would be selected.

Not the whole Bob but a lot of it. Cowher, and Jimmy, I have no problem with, but Flores come on, not Canton material to me.

You and River know that I was not a huge fan of Shaun Alexander's but except for total yardage, he compares with LaDainian Tomlinson on everything else. One was first ballot the other will never get in. More are coming up for a vote like Peppers, Mathews, and others who will knock out guys that should be in. What about Beast?

Sickening watching Hutch go in and realize what a crippling blow it dealt to the Holmgren era . It shortened Alexander’s career imo . As for hall of fame for SA I don’t see it . He had one of the best run blocking lines in the league . He ran soft . He was a great back , just one level shy of HOF. If beast is not first ballot it’s a travesty .

Hall of Fame re-imagined. “Levels” or “Tiers” if you will? That way, virtually everyone who is in the league long enough for a cup of coffee qualifies for HOF. Basically, all receive a trophy for participating……

Losing Hutch was huge, especially when you couple it with Robbie Tobeck retiring without a viable replacement not too long after XL (he played in just 8 games in 2006). SA comes up short in my book. 1 MVP, 3 PB appearances, less than 9500 career rushing yards, and no rings just doesn't cut it. But I don't think that Beast is the slam dunk you're making him out to be. His numbers are weak, with contemporaries like Steven Jackson, Jamal Lewis, and Thomas Jones all putting up better stats, and he is a little controversial and could rub some voters the wrong way. But he had some of the most spectacular runs in NFL history so that should help his cause.

Is Eli Manning a HOFamer? Just wondering? I say a marginal thumbs up.

Probably. He has two SB MVP's.
