OT: Beast Mode and Fauci

Postby RiverDog » Sun Apr 18, 2021 7:32 pm

This is one of those half and half topics, half that should belong to the off topic forum and half that is a legitimate Seahawk football topic.

Beast Mode sits down and does a video conference with Dr. Anthony Fauci and discusses the coronavirus, the vaccines, and how it affects the black/Hispanic communities. If you have a spare 30+ minutes, it's well worth your time. I watched the entire video and love it! There couldn't be two men that have as little in common as Marshawn Lynch and Anthony Fauci yet they both seemed to understand and appreciate each other.

Good to see Marshawn doing something positive. Hopefully he gets publicly vaccinated and helps the get the message across.

Yup, agreed. Time for professional athletes and other high profile personalities, especially blacks as the African American community is one of the most hesitant to get the jab, to get with the program by agreeing to get vaccinated, preferably in public. It will save more lives than a thousand BLM protests.

It also sounds like the league may implement their version of a vaccine passport as they're talking about not relaxing protocols until after a certain percentage of their players/employees have been vaccinated:

While there is no required vaccination for players at this time, the memo instructs teams to report on a weekly basis the number of employees who have been vaccinated. It says they are actively working with the NFLPA on a set of protocol changes that would apply to clubs when vaccination levels reach a certain threshold that would allow them to loosen protocols put in place because of the pandemic. That would mean they could relax everything from quarantine restrictions to cafeteria and locker room use.

I also see where Russell and his wife will be hosting a "Roll Up Your Sleeves America" special on vaccination awareness along with Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal. Excellent!

Good for Marshawn. He's one of those people who didn't forget where he came from and is trying to make a difference in his community
with whatever influence he has. He just bought into a soccer team for the area, too.
