Timing of “ Snacks” release

Why would the Seahawks just grant a release, so he can just end up with a contender just before playoffs... Not like he’s all-world, but another team that’s thin at Nose tackle, is just essentially helping that team out, and just could come back to bite you if the Seahawks were to play that team, they put a lot of time and effect into getting him ready, and so by just releasing him, the new team benefits and strengthens their d-line and against the run.... I think they should have waited another week if they were just going to let him go, sounds like he wants to get on with another playoff bound team.... I’ll bet he ends up with packers or bucs....

Cause he asked nice? We don't need him now with Mone back, why not let him continue on his way.

I think they should have kept him on the active roster. Who knows if Mone is completely healed and
Jarran Reed has a minor pec injury that might lead to missed time if it gets worse.

He ASKED for his release and said the ' young players' deserve the playing time (meaning Mone) and he didn't want to be a backup. He tweeted he liked his time here, liked the coaches and players, but didn't want to sit on the bench.

I think the player himself and all involved handled it the right way.

The way we treated Snacks is one of the reasons why Pete has a reputation of being a player's coach.

He asked for his release because he was put on the Inactive list for the Rams game. He said he put all that work in to play football not sit on the bench and wants to go to a team that will play him.

...and, if they don't want to be there, you don't want them there. No draft capital, no trade value...

He went on waivers, so all the teams (except KC and the Seahawks) could of placed a claim in the inverse order of the current standings. Chicago would of been one team that could of taken him for the game against GB. I don't remember a player 'choosing' his destination when he's on waivers, but with only 1 game left on his contract plus playoffs, maybe he did make some calls ahead of his request to be cut.
