Adams Quote - the mans not blowing smoke!

I had posted yesterday Adams saying after the game that the Hawks have the best D in the NFL. Well, he has a point:

* 12.8 PPG over the past 6 games would be #1 in the NFL. Miami is currently #1 with 18.8 PPG

* 287 yards PG over the past 6 games would be #2. LA Rams are #1 at 286 YPG

* Going into yesterday they had 3.9 sacks in 8 games. Pittsburgh is #1 with 3.05 per game.

I understand it wasn't the toughest part of our schedule.....but Jamal has a point. This is one helluva midseason turnaround.

Personally I love it! All of it, the play on the field and the cockiness off it. The Legion used to have that swagger, glad to see the current group picking it up!

It's been a fabulous turnaround, so much so that it's changed my thinking regarding our post season prospects. But I'm going to reserve comment about our defense being the best in the league or whatever until I see us going up against an Aaron Rodgers, a Drew Brees, or a Tom Brady. The QB's we've beaten in the 2nd half of the season literally stink.

Their performance against the Rams was impressive. Hopefully this carries into the postseason and our offense picks up.

I don't buy that entirely. The LA Rams are the #7 offense and the #1 defense. A legit team. A legit offensive threat. Easy to say Goff stunk - but how much of that was due to the game plan and defensive effort by the Hawks?

Jared Goff has committed 39 turnovers in the past two seasons, most in the league over that period of time. That pick he threw yesterday was unexplainable, a first down play, not a receiver within 10 yards, and not in imminent danger of a sack. It was an unforced error. Can't do that in a low scoring game. Goff has been a huge liability for the Rams over the past two years.

I am not taking a single thing away from our defense. Our mid season turnaround has been phenomenal. Yesterday was perhaps the best defensive effort we've had in the past 3-4 years even taking into consideration the opposing QB. I just want to see us against a real, HOF quality quarterback before I break out the anointing oil.

Say what you want, doesn’t hold much sway with me. Fact is they are the #7 offense WITH Goff (as they we’re in ‘19). Both better than Seattle, and he has a winning record against Seattle. You don’t have to like Goff, but their passing attack has been more productive than Seattle. Bottom line it was a quality effort against a legit offense.

And I agree with that, and I'll even go a little further than your characterization of a "quality" effort. It was a suburb effort, the best effort we've produced in the last 3-4 years. I am simply saying is that I want to see how we respond to a better quarterback before I start heaping on the accolades.
