I've never been one to get too excited one way or another over Pro Bowl selections. The game itself is a joke and I wish they'd find some other way to honor the league's best than putting them at risk of a career ending injury in a completely meaningless game that even the most hard core fan couldn't give a rip about which team wins. A lot of the best players don't even show up for it or miss it because their team is still in the playoffs. The fact that they've canceled the game this season highlights its irrelevance.
Having said that, I was surprised to see Jamaal Adams make it, considering that he missed 4 games, or over a quarter of the season to this point. It's going to pad his resume when it comes time to negotiate a new contract with him.
Agreed about Meyers. He's had a fantastic season so far, although it's a little premature to be lumping accolades on him, especially at a position as funky as place kicker. He misses a couple of key kicks in these last two games and our opinions of his performance could swing 180 degrees.
Which brings up a point: Why are they even voting on Pro Bowl selections when there's two weeks left in the regular season?
