Shocked that the Rams lost to the Jets today! They were just cooking along until today. The Rams did their best imitation of the Seahawks in the sense of playing down to the level of their opponent. Let's hope they don't wake up out of their stupor for our game with them next week.

Yeah, hate to see them lose a week before, but if we’re champ material we have to take them out and Russ has to get back on track and our D has to get on Garoppolo.

The Rams losing really doesn't do much for us as far as our playoff chances goes. Unless we get really lucky, we're not going to get a first round bye, so the only difference that the Rams game, and the subsequent Niners game, is likely to make is whether we play a team like Washington or Tampa Bay, and with the pandemic relegating us to nearly empty stadiums, home field advantage doesn't mean a lot.

Garoppolo? Did you mean Goff? Or was there a trade I missed?

I think they have similar weaknesses, Goff and Garroppalo in that they wilt under pressure and start throwing up pickable balls.
But I think the Rams will arrive with fire in their eyes ready to make a statement.

I'm not sure why we're talking about Garappolo. He hasn't played since our game with them back on 11/1 and is unlikely to return this season. He's already been scratched from this week's game vs. the Cards and with the Niners mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, it would be insanity to bring back your franchise QB for what for them is a meaningless game of which winning would only drop them further down in the draft. Shanny isn't in any danger of losing his job so they'll be playing it as they would a preseason game. Besides, Mullens is a better QB anyway.

Agreed about Goff. He doesn't handle pressure well at all, and with our new found pass rush, we might be able to pressure him in to a turnover or two. I'm also in agreement about the Rams' likely attitude. They got blind sided by the Jets, lost out on any chance for HFA, and still haven't clinched a playoff berth. They're going to be hungry.

I didn't feel as embarrassed about the Jets win as some. Anytime you put up that many points on anyone and Russ is in a coat on the sidelines in the 4th quarter you did pretty good. They should have beaten the Raiders the week before. Any given sunday.

Obviously our offense, well pass offense/Russ really struggled although he had a good day with his feet yesterday. But that was a team on a 4 game win streak, well coached and bringing in Haskins was a wild card. We won. I'll take it. Bring on the rams. If our pass rush steps up were winning the division.

Lol, strangely, this was my 1st thought when the game went final. Our token troll is so harmless, unimaginative, & elementary that it's comical. I know that's why the mods allow him to spout his feeble droll here. He's entertaining, & has gotta be in like, 5th or 6th grade.
The Seahawks win & Rams loss redeemed my day after getting knocked out of my FFL playoff game.4th quarter was another example of Seattle playing not to lose.

I'm far more worried now that the Rams lost that game... just remember how the Seahawks played after they laid an egg against the life-time backup Colt McCoy and the Giants and then came back against those very same J-E-T-S the following week. The NFL is a one-game at a time sport. 7 days between games is a lot of time to stew over a loss and one that everyone is talking about (and not in a good way) should make all of us very, very nervous. And I think the Rams have won 5 of the last 6 against us, so they do know how to win.

You're exactly right. As a matter of fact, I mentioned this very fact in a thread a couple months ago and Yoder made a rare appearance and confirmed for us that the reason our forum troll is permitted within our little family is because he has an entertainment value in the same way people laugh at the classroom dunce.

Absolutely. It's Week 16 and the playoffs are two weeks away. The Rams are a solid team that got embarrassed by the league's 97lb. weakling. They lose this game and they're in danger of falling out of the playoffs entirely. They win, and they're in.

This weekend could be more intense than Week 17. There's a lot of teams, including perhaps our Seahawks, that will have made the playoffs but will be eliminated from the only first round bye available, so they'd be motivated to rest their starters in that final week, especially considering how the empty stadiums somewhat neutralizes home field advantage and lessens the incentive for higher seeding.

On the other hand, Goff and the Rams as a whole have proved to be a streaky team. They were on a role until the Jet's knocked them off. Maybe that was the end of the hot streak and a turning point.

I wouldn't say that the Rams were "on a roll". They have had the epitome of a checkered season. They won their first two games, then lost one, then won another two, lost one, won one, lost one, won two, lost one, won another two, and now they've lost one. They haven't won more than two in a row, nor have they lost two in a row.

It reminds me somewhat of one of our seasons back in the late 80's when we finished 8-8, winning two in a row followed by losing two in a row, throughout the entire season.

Our pass rush is coming along, our defense in general. Its the best we've had our defense playing this time of the year in a long time. Jets got a little heat on Goff and he puked it up.They aren't as solid as seattle. Were a better team.

There's really no HFA here, Seattle's going to go play in an empty stadium that cost 2 billion against a team that couldn't defend the rug against the Jets a week before. Couldn't stop 37 year old Frank Gore with the game on the line.

Good luck with Carson, Penney, Hyde Far and away the healthiest our backs have been in a couple of seasons this time of year. Josh Gordon will be suited up. Dunlap's been on a pitch count which is why he's showing up in crunch time which he is. I'm really starting to like the team right now. My main concern remains which Russ is gonna show up. He was good with his feet, pretty bad with his arm considering he was only hit 3 times and wasn't sacked.He left 100 yards of offense and a couple TDs on the field with overthrows and almost got DK injured.It's just weird watching him struggle, we've been spoiled for so long.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Josh Gordon get some action this week. He reported in very good shape and he obviously knows the offense.

I'm holding off on the Lombardi predictions but I am relatively optimistic. Russell looked better than his average for the past 4 or 5 games, but he's still not slinging it around like he was in the first couple months of the season.

We go as Russ goes. I recall quite a few games in his career where he struggled throughout the game but with 2 minutes left he was unbeatable. This year those bad games have stayed bad for 60 minutes, sort of the dave Krieg MO. If he gets right we will win it all.
