The Washington Football Team vs Steelers

Postby TriCitySam » Mon Dec 07, 2020 7:16 pm

"I'm not convinced that the Steelers are for real. They've played a relatively weak schedule that includes the mighty NFC East and, despite their incessant whining, caught a huge break when Lamar Jackson was sidelined with COVID. IMO KC, Buffalo, and Tennessee are all better teams. The '72 Dolphins can rest easy."

Well Riverdog, you called that one right! Two things: 1) They have a D and now a QB 2) Considering yesterday, maybe we've sold the NFC East short

Steelers were pretenders. They just got exposed. Much like Seattle against Buffalo. Just a couple of pretenders that will be jobbers in the playoffs. Only the Chiefs and Saints look real to me right now.

I appreciate the kudos but I didn't exactly call that game. Over in our Hawkshack Pick'um league, something that I wish more folks in here would participate in, I not only picked the Steelers to win, but gave them the 2nd highest number of confidence points. I figured that someone like Buffalo or Indy would knock them off.

Last night while watching MNF, I saw a video of Larry Czonka, the heart and soul of the '72 Dolphins, sipping a cocktail in celebration of the Washington win. Ironically, the last Dolphin win of that season was in the Super Bowl vs. the then Washington Redskins.

Riverboat Ron is not to be underestimated. He can motivate and coach and playing his Carolina teams was a rock fight in our absolite prime window. I wish he wasn't coaching washington

I never play in those leagues or fantasy football. I only like the Seahawks. I don't care about other teams. My fantasy team would be Seahawks. I would pick the Seahawks every week. So no point in trying as I know I would lose doing that.

I don't particularly care that much for fantasy football as it's too dependent on injuries. I'm in a 12 team league so if you have a player like Saquon Barkley and he gets injured early, you're screwed. It's pretty complicated with drafts, trading, picking up free agents, researching players, etc.

Not so with the pick'um league. It's very simple. Just pick the winner of each game and assign points to your selections based on your degree of confidence in your picks. It keeps you interested in the outcome of every game, even the crap games like the Bengals vs. Jets or something. Plus it's free.

Although you wouldn't catch anyone in the overall standings, it's not too late to join. They track everyone's results on a week-by-week basis, so you can compare your weekly performance with the other contestants. Try it, you might like it. If you're interested, go into the Hawkshack Pick-um thread and get the login info. PM myself or Cbob if you need help.
