No kidding, they stepped up big. Hopefully we get healthy but Robison and Griffen earned themselves a spot on the game-day roster!

Defense came up in the clutch. Hopefully they can build on that.

Yeah, obviously we can’t keep allowing 400+ passing yards and 500+ total yards every week, but there’s not a lot of evidence that there is any help coming. Maybe Robinson and Griffen can offer some semblance of a pass rush and we can keep our fingers crossed when it comes to Adams injury and Taylor (although I’m not holding my breath there) or some sort of trade (Kerrigan? Would the Vikes ever consider trading Ngakoue?) but the of of any help coming to our pass rush is not promising. We also need to get a better DL rotation as Reed and Mayowa we’re playing 85-95% of defensive snaps before today and that is not sustainable. It looked like we had a better rotation today, though.

Granted, the defense is beat up, but they are allowing a lot of passing yards right now. Need to find a pass rush and slow those passing attacks down and give the DBs a chance.

Flowers couldn’t seem to make any of the plays there for him and struggled mightily in coverage. Quil didn’t look himself though that pick was pretty.

Adams injury hurt; so did Lewis’s. Wilson threw more bad balls than I’d like to see, but he came through in typical fashion.

Lastly, c’mon Metcalf!!!! Get over your own headlines and keep your head in the game! No excuse to let your guard down like that. Glad he got a little redemption on the go ahead game winning score.

3-0 is still 3-0 though. Go Hawks!

It may prove to be a very costly win.

One thing that really stood out to me was the large number of passing plays for both offenses where the QB had all day long to stand back there and throw but could not find an open receiver. Both secondaries alternated between lock down coverage and giving up big plays. Shaquill Griffin didn't have his best day, that's for sure.

One thing that concerns me is that the headiness of the success we have had in RW unleashed, the running game is being pretty much ignored. I'm afraid there will be a game when the big downfield plays are not working and we need to run the ball and control the clock and find we can't do that like we used to.

Dumb Kid Metcalf hopefully learned a valuable lesson today. I was really impressed with the late 4th quarter TD. It made the difference. 3-0 feels good.

That could end up being a blessing in disguise, to make a Leon Lett-style bonehead mistake in a regular season game and not cost his team a win.

Zeke Elliott seemed like he had his head in the clouds. He dropped several passes and wasn't nearly as elusive running the ball like he normally is. He had just 34 yards of 14 carries. I'm sure that part of that was our scheme that took away his inside running, but nevertheless, that's the worst game I've seen him play. Cowboys are an onside kick away from being 0-3.

Russell wasn't nearly as sharp as he has been in the previous two games as he was throwing low and behind his receivers on many occasions. But it was still plenty good to win as we didn't turn the ball over and we were 3-3 in the red zone, scoring TD's instead of having to settle for FG's.

Bad news is our pass defense. Although we did get some push up front, it wasn't nearly enough. Especially with Dunbar out, our corners aren't nearly good enough to go one-on-one with NFL-quality receivers so we can afford to blitz to get pressure. Given that we're a more pass heavy offense than we have been in recent years and will be giving opposing offenses more opportunities, we're going to have to find a way to get pressure on QB's w/o having to blitz, although IMO Ken Norton has done a great job mixing up his calls and not falling into a pattern.

The other good news is that both the Rams and Cards lost, leaving us in sole possession of 1st place in the division.

And last but not least, Pete was wearing his mask more often this game. Looks like the $100k did the trick!

I thought it looked like he continued to roll after Carson was clearly down; glad the league at least took notice. As Henry Rutherford Hill would say, “Dirty pool, mister. Dirty pool.”

Not quite in Ndamukong Suh or Albert Haynesworth territory as I don't think he was out to intentionally hurt him, but I agree, he should have realized a lot earlier than he did that Carson was down and let down before doing a gator roll. They say that the offender, DT Trysten Hill, is probably going to get fined but that they don't expect him to get suspended.

I don't expect him to be suspended, but with the emphasis on player safety and Hill committing 2 fouls that are outside of the
normal play and unnecessary, they might want to nip this in the bud. Add to it all of the injuries this year so far and we
might be surprised to see both a fine and suspension.

Disagree, he was absolutely trying to hurt him. There was a questionable tackle on Russ too where it looked like they defender wan trying to roll on his knee after getting him down. The Cowboys D looks dirty.

Intent is impossible for either one of us to determine. In the absence of any other information, I tend to give the person the benefit of the doubt, and if the league just issues a fine and doesn't suspend him, it would be an acknowledgement of sorts of a similar POV.

In any event, you'll have to agree that it wasn't as egregious as incidents involving the aforementioned players.
