Checking Your Voting Status

Edit: I intended to start this thread in the OT forum. My apologies.

Consider this a public service announcement.

In light of all the confusion and controversy regarding the role of the USPS in the upcoming election, I'd like to pass along some information to those of us that live in Washington state. There is a website called the voter portal where you can check on your voting status and when the state has received your mail-in ballot. No confidential information like SS number is required. All you have to do is enter your name and birthdate:

https://voter.votewa.gov/WhereToVote.aspx

It works, at least for me. It accurately displayed the date on which they received my ballot in the recent primary election as July 23, 2020. Although it won't show who you voted for, it will show the elections in which they received a ballot from you as far back as 1992.

If you do not receive a ballot, you can request one on this site. Although I don't know what kind of documentation you will need, you can also register on the site. Hope this helps.

I have always used ballot drop boxes. Seems somewhat more secure but who knows? I’ve had countless bad experiences with USPS with mail/packages.........

The nice thing about this site is that you can check to see if they received your ballot or request one online if you didn't receive one.
