This would be the wildest move in the history of the league. Although one has to qualify it by saying that the source is Michael Irvin, there's a rumor that the Cowboys are considering tagging Dak Prescott, trading him, then signing Tom Brady:

Actually I'd love to see this happen. It would be a marriage of two of my most disliked personalities in sport: Jerry Jones and Tom Brady.

But the reality is that the quarterback market is over saturated, making a trade of Dak less likely. Why would anyone in their right mind...especially when you eliminate Jerry Jones as a possible trading partner...give up a #1 pick if they could get a very similar QB like Marcus Mariota for the same price yet not have to surrender anything via a trade?

Yeah thats not gonna happen. I see Billy, Bobby, and Tommy, all cutting a deal for one more year, and he goes out like Jeter. Dak, IMHO, should be tagged, to make sure that he is the real deal.

I don't think it's anywhere near the wildest thing that's ever happened, it's not a whole lot different than The Bronco's acquiring Peyton Manning ... while I don't think it's likely, I could see it happening. Brady has said he's not going to give the Pats another home town discount, and Jerruh is all about making big headlines and putting fannies in the seats.

The guys than run the Gym I go to are big Pats fans and I told them I'd heard this rumor, they had as well, but don't think it'll happen either.

I thought about the Manning acquisition, too, but that one didn't involve a trade, and Indy had already made it public that they weren't resigning him. This would be huge news for three teams (Patriots, Cowboys, and who ever ends up with Dak), not just one as was the case with Manning. Outside of the Herschel Walker trade, which didn't involve a 3rd team or the GOAT, I can't think of a splashier move.

Whether or not it's the wildest thing that's ever happened is highly debatable and wasn't really my point. It's a crazy rumor that if true, would really shake up the sporting world for a few days.

Both Prescott and Brady are scheduled to be FA's, there wouldn't need to be a trade unless the 'Boy's franchise Dak, which they have said they are trying to avoid.

The Cowpie rumor in all likelihood is just that. Michael Irvin seemed to be backtracking from his earlier remarks by saying that he wasn't talking about Jerry Jones or anyone within the Cowboys organization, so who in the hell is he talking about?

But it's becoming pretty obvious that Brady will be on the move. There was a report this morning that the Pats aren't even trying to resign him and have agreed to let him test the FA market.

There's a lot of FA QB's on the market, more than anyone can remember, so look for a wild ride when the FA period begins next month.

I think if he goes anywhere, it'll be the Chargers that offer him 32m x 2 = $64/million over 2 years. They are opening up a new stadium as a second rate tenant to the Rams, (think NBA's Clippers vs Lakers when Stapples opened) -- Brady's wife would probably prefer LA as a landing spot and would help put bodies in the seats and legitimize the team... at least that's what the team hopes will happen.
When LA Kings signed Gretzky, even toward the end of his career, the attendance doubled. The fans in LA need an incentive to come beyond just "winning". Brady gives them that incentive.

As for Dak, the team might throw the 'non-exclusive' tag, wait for an offer to gauge other teams interest, and would give the 'Boys the option of taking 2 first round picks in return, if they choose to let him go. I could see them using the picks in trading up and to see Tua ending up there.

There's also a rumor going around that the Raiders will trade Derek Carr and sign Brady.

It's going to be a pretty interesting March with so many good, veteran quarterbacks that are or might be on the move.

They don't need to do it to sell tickets. Basically, this year is sold out and the team has reported that the seat license sales far exceeded their predictions and they have stopped selling them. This means that Brady wouldn't bring in any $$$... so without that as an incentive, I doubt the Raiders do it. Maybe someone else (Stafford?) or move up to draft to take a top QB. That's always a possibility.

That's true, but it doesn't mean that the Raiders wouldn't be interested. Rumors of a Raiders trading of Derek Carr, the most often mentioned team being the Bears, has been circulating for the past 6 weeks.

Bret Favre had one pretty good season in Minnesota, but you're right. Any team signing Brady is trying to catch lightning in a bottle.
