2012?

This season at least right now feels like 2012 except the 2012 team seemed to dominate the regular seasons last 5-6 games. Then we lost to Matt Ryan's last throw but both playoff games were a struggle. Niners went on to the SB to play the Ravens. Might happen again. The 2013 came and we all know what happened. I think our late season 2012 team could beat this 2019 version.

I’d take that 2012 team in a heartbeat . They were blowing teams out . I watched them beat AZ 50 something to zip. If not for a slow start and terrible coaching they might have beaten Atl in the divisional and faced the same 9ers team they blew off the field in December. Carroll has admitted he blew a chance at a lombardi that year. This team is smoke and mirrors and Russ. With the injuries and horrific play at times it’s a mystery how they have gotten this far. Turnovers is a big part of it but losing Carson and also Penney As well as a finally healthy Prosise is a huge blow. It will be a miracle if this team wins it all

I felt that our 2012 squad was the best team in the conference, and had our defense not played so loose in the last minute of the divisional playoff game vs. the Falcons, we probably would have gotten there. Although it was at home when we used to have a huge HFA, we beat the Niners so bad in the 2nd to last regular season game that IMO we would have blown them out in the NFCCG.

But I don't think there's a lot of similarities between our 2012 team and this year's addition. Russell was more like Lamar Jackson, didn't have the receiving weapons he has now, and our defense was much stronger in 2012 although losing Clemmons hurt us badly as we didn't have a decent replacement.
