Wow. End of an era of Patriots dominance. Brady is finally done. I'll be surprised if we ever see any QB and coach dominate like that again in our lifetimes.

Perfect ending!

Well, a perfect ending would have been their loss to the lowly Dolphins and missing the playoffs. But I loved it, too.

There's going to be a lot of activity with veteran quarterbacks this offseason, with guys like Cam Newton, Phillip Rivers, Marcus Mariota, Eli Manning, and others looking for new teams, so I honestly doubt whether anyone's going to want to risk signing the GOAT given his personality.

An end to the Patriots' dominance is likely true but Brady being done? Do you mean continuing to play? Not according to Brady in a post game press conference.

Unless Brady returns to the Patriots, it's questionable as to what team is going to be willing to turn their reins over to him. First of all, there are going to be a heck of a lot of other veteran quarterbacks available this offseason, including Phillip Rivers, Cam Newton, Marcus Mariota, etc. Secondly, Brady is a prick, a prima donna that does not have the personality that would be required to serve as a mentor to a young QB that a rebuilding team would desire. Brady's a spoiled brat that's going to want his own show.

Brady was starting to show his age this year. His passes no longer have the zip to them they used to have and his movement in the pocket is slower than before. It's time for him to retire.

I think he is done as a Pat, River. He could go to the Chargers to sell tickets; to the Broncos, or to the Colts. All those teams have good offensive lines and weapons.

The only way I see Brady playing for a team other than the Pats is if Josh McDaniel gets hired as a HC somewhere, like Carolina. Otherwise, I think he retires.

I think their ‘dynasty’ must necessarily have an asterisk next to it, in light of no less than 3 cheating scandals, 2 of which they at least partially admitted to. I hope this is the start of a mediocre decade for them. No, I’m not bitter.

It’s getting interesting . It’s no secret Belichick was livid when Brady cajoled Kraft into forcing the Garrapolo trade . Had it not happened I wouldn’t have been shocked to see Belichick bench Brady a few times this year. He was statistically one of the worst QBs in the league as the season went along , actually being outplayed by guys like Mitch Trubiski . He’s dinking and dunking more than manning was .
His style is a dinosaur in a league that demands mobility . The pats would be crazy to pay this guy for another year . And like RD pointed out he’s a prick , a has been prick and I think a team would be foolish to bring him in at 43 .
When did the sports gods decide someone gets to decide when it’s over for them?


As for his legacy I suppose you have to give him his due , 6 lombardis , 9 SBs , 50 division championships
But there’s the scandals most notably the taping before the super bowl vs the Rams when their defense seemed to know the Rams plays . The tuck play . Playing for a flawed and dishonest coach but the best XO and talent evaluating coach of all time . Protected 95% of his career . Great skill players over the years . The last 10 years he’s had a superior slot receiver first Welker and now Edelman who I detest but might be the greatest toughest slot receiver I ever saw. Gronk nuff said.

Tom Brady is the luckiest man ever to suit up. His SB record could easily be 3 -6 with the 3 won by 9 points total .

Belichick wouldn’t adress the subject , Brady was pretty muted and humble . But Kraft came out and said he hoped Brady either stayed a patriot or retired and “it’s his choice “. What if Kraft forces Belichick to accept Brady another year ?

You forgot to add playing in a division that has the worst collection of dysfunctional opponents in the history of the league. Over the past 20 years, only the Jets have put up a serious challenge, back in the latter part of the previous decade.

If Brady does leave, I could foresee him going to a team that hires Josh McDaniel's, perhaps the Panthers. McDaniel's was a huge flop in his first head coaching gig in Denver, trading up in the first round to get Tim Tebow then trading their first round pick to us for some random defensive back that was out of the league in a couple years. There are a few other teams that would be interested, but I doubt that a bidding war breaks out like we saw when Peyton Manning eventually went to the Broncos.

Yeah I forgot to adress the division. Although when a team hangs 2 on you annually it affects your record . But no doubt the division has been pretty bad

Patriots (1): Bill Belichick.

Some guys don't know when to end it. Why continue to play? He has other things he can do. He should retire with six rings, nine Super Bowl appearances, and best to ever do it at QB legacy that will likely never be beat.

Truth. It’s sad watching mike Jordan stumbling around . Even in winning a super Bowl Manning’s arm was painfully weak plus whispers of HGH.

But I think the same traits that make them great also cause many to hang on too long. If Brady plays next year it’s going to be bad, worse if it’s anywhere but NE.
