The hawks offense better not lay an egg, really aside from brown at LT, they are pretty much healthy, especially receiving wise, and should be better overall that lynch will have another week under his belt... they need to quit hamstringing Wilson for 4 quarters, we see what happens when he gets more freedom to make things happen they kind of get in a rhythm and start clicking better...

And not having their starting RBs or TEs.

I'm far more concerned about the defense than the offense. I hope they can keep the score down against a fairly weak Philly team.

Ya I think having diggs back will help tremendously, but will he be a major factor just coming back from a high ankle sprain, remains to be seen... probably going to really come down to whether hawks get pressure on wentz and force turnovers like last time

Kendricks is out with a torn ACL. And Philly has been getting it together of late. They are a better team than they were for most of the season.

Ahh besides brown, they are down to there #3 te, to their #4rb, and down what was our #3 wr, so not sure were you think the offense is fine. If we knew they were going go let Wilson loose all game I would pencil in a win. But this is PC which means it will be tough.

Don't forget our starting center. And Iupati, although he's been injured more often than he's been healthy, left the game last Sunday with an injury.

The offense has as many if not more contributing players absent from the roster as the defense has.

It could come down to who can run the ball with the RB's they have left.

Yeah! I’m not trying to make excuses, but we are down 1/2 of our O-line (Britt, Brown, 1/2 Iaupati), we are on our 4th string RB, 3rd string TE (Dissly is Kittle like - remember?), and Tyler is not the same since getting hurt. That’s half of our offense and a good 1/4 of the D either out or limited. It’s just part of it, but it’s been pretty devastating. Of our starting 22 at the beginning of 2019, about 1/2 are out or diminished. Again, devastating. Playing w/o Clowney, Diggs, Griffin and Woods is not something I’d like to see again. Shaquille was a shell of his former self last week. Let’s hope he is better this week and Diggs and Clowney are too. They will need to be. Still, we can win this game and hopefully get Brown back if we do.

It’s crazy to overcome what this team has. I sure hope they string some wins together to close out this year. IMHO, given the injury/suspension bug, Pete and John deserve some awards to have the team where they are.

Exactly. seasons like this are what usually cause otherwise perennial contenders to have the odd 3 win season. For us to be where we are now under these conditions is remarkable, and mostly underappreciated by most of our own fans. We're totally playing with house money here, enjoy it!

With all due respects, when you're a dedicated fan like I am and we lose 3 of our last 4 games after having run off to a 10-2 record in the first 3/4 of the season, it's pretty difficult for me to rationalize my disappointment by framing it in the context of what you're referring to. It's not much consolation. You don't get in the position we were in very often. I wanted those wins, and I'm pissed because we didn't get them, especially the Niners game that was there for the taking.

Oh, well.

Play Shaquem. Dude is progressively disruptive , winning against his blocker over 50% of the time. With Kendricks out there’s no excuse for him not to have 25 or 30 snap. What do you have to lose ?

Mainly my point regarding the offense playing like they are capable I was going off the second half of the niner game, Niners have a waaaaay better defense then eagles and hawks when they decided to get going did well against a top team defense, so even tho they are down a lot of guys they showed Sunday they can still be good, and ya Anthony I agree let Wilson do his thing, and I believe we will see a much more potent offense.... it doesn’t mean play careless, but do things that will get things clicking and rhythm, we’ve all seen the difference, so why not try something different to start the game instead of taking the majority of the half to “feel out ” the opposition

Well, if I'm a Ducks fan, I wouldn't be doing too much gloating. Oregon got that win handed to them, beneficiaries of 4 turnovers, including 3 that led directly to TD's. I've never seen a punter just plain drop a football in completely perfect field and weather conditions like that Wisconsin punter did.

The Pac-12 is a weak conference. I heard where the loser of the Pac-12 championship has lost 8 straight bowl games.

A comment was made after the game (can't remember who) that said the 9ers were missing some DL and that the 2nd half showed they were starting to get worn down and that added
to our success on Offense. I can see it happening to players that normally rotate and get rested during games to now have to play a lot more. And with more on the line, it often takes
a mental toll, too.
Having said that, some of us have been saying for years that going up tempo earlier would probably help the Offense get on track earlier and probably make it a better game on Offense.

I'm bummed that we didn't finish with a TD, but I look at it from a season point of view and this team has exceeded my expectations from a win perspective, and
when I consider how we would have done with even half of those who are on IR playing in those games, the future looks bright. I have no expectations for the
playoffs because of the injuries, but I have some hope that miracles will happen.

If someone had told me before the season we would be 11-5 WC in the tourney with a pretty tough schedule, the conference champs Rams and improving(boy howdy) 9ers in the division Id have been cool with it. When you hit the rarified air of 10-2 all of a sudden the expectations change.

Im very dissapointed, more in the injuries/suspensions that have gutted this team.

The more I look at Sunday the more pessimistic I get. Penney went off on these guys last time. Carson hammered them. And remember they are one of the better run defenses in the league. The Eagles turned it over 5 times and Wentz looked befuddled. Now were limping back in there 1-3 in December while they went 4-0 with Wentz one of the hotter QBs in the league. Thinking about it Seattle's Dec and Jan personality has changed the last few years and not for the better. They have had a december swoon in the last few years. Russ is just 2-4 on the road in the postseason with a win against the Skins in 2012, the miracle win VS the Vikes in 2016 offset by 2 losses to Atlanta, 1 to Carolina, and 1 to Dallas in games in which they were not competetive other than at the very end of the first Atlanta game

. They are 0 for their last 3 on the road in the playoffs. If they play at a high level they can get this but if they do their normal sluggish first half they are going home.

Point taken... and while the hawks haven’t played very well in the last 4 games, and the eagles are 4-0 in the last 4, we need to put who they beat into perspective, not exactly quality teams....

Apology accepted, but yes "when you're a dedicated fan like I am" does seem to be implying that the person to whom you are speaking is not. I think it's fair to say that most of the regulars here are pretty dedicated as fans.

In the game that basically won the division vs Dallas in week 16 in Philly The Eagles held the supremely offensively talented Cowboys to 9 points...3 field goals. Their playoffs started the week after the Seattle game.

Wentz threw 10 TDs and 1 pick in the last 5 games and that was a hail Mary vs Miami. As Seattle proved by getting hammered by a supposedly bad AZ team division contests are no given despite the records.

Seattle is a road favorite by 1.5 which is just added blackboard material for a division winner playing at home. We were that team only far worse in 2010 at 7-9 and a 14 point home dog against the Saints and we all saw how that went down

Last week I picked Seattle to lose convincingly and they damn near won. I'm not picking them to lose this, just saying buyer beware because if they dont play an excellent game they aren't going to cruise out of there with another 17-9 win.If they follow the pattern of the last 3 road playoff games and really much of this year of getting down 2 or 3 scores early in the game they are toast. They have to play well from the start.

It would be the game of the year version 3. I hope it happens. That was actually the 9ers first win in Seattle since 2011.

It's been said before 9er but we really appreciate a fan of another team coming in here respectfully to talk ball instead of being a baiting troll. Thanks again.

I’m rather hoping the Vikings and Hawks face each other at the Clink for the NFC Championship Game. I don’t think it’s likely, but it’s possible. As much as I’d love the rubber match with the Niners (classy post there, niner fan - thank you!), I’d rather host the NFCCG ;) ;) ;) .

This is the rivalry I've been hoping for since Kap and Russ were the two hotshot young QB's in the NFL. Rivalries like this are what make football great! A warrior is judged by the strength of his opponent, it's no fun to beat up on a weakling.

Diggs being back is awesome. He's a ball hawk with range and smarts and he brings the lumber better than anyone since Kam. Could he be our Bob Sanders? God Bless Joey Hunt but the guy is getting mauled regularly as it is. Not sure who third string is but can it be worse? I worry about how effective the rest of the injured guys can be. Clowney was off the wall in 9ers 1 but hurt himself and just hasn't been nearly the same. I doubt Brown will be back this week. Nice to get Luke Willson back, he might help the offense a bit.

I dunno the more I look at this matchup the less I like it. That was a long 2 inches

I'm not looking at this playoff run the same way I did in 2013 or '14.
Those seasons it was expected that we'd reach the CCG at minimum.
This year Vegas had the over/under win total at 8.5
None of our starting RB's are available, and we got 19 total rushing yds from Beast/Homer combined.
That's because we got RW:)
Leading rusher along with 325 in the air.
We have a shot in GB.
Go Hawks.

Russell accounted for 95.4% of the total yards gained by the team. That is the second highest playoff game percentage in the history of the NFL. It went by quick on the TV, but I think it was Otto Graham in the mid 50's that was a tick above him. That's what we have with Russell. He looked great out there today. On to GB. Hopefully we get the two missing pieces of the OLine back for the game.

Well, I wouldn't be busting my buttons over that stat. Russell's passing/rushing stats weren't that eye popping, a little over 300 yards passing and 45 yards rushing. The reason why Russell had such a high percentage of our offense is because we had just 17 yards rushing out of our running backs.

Thats a little rough Riv. The bigger point is, I would not use anybody to predict NFL games, not even Colin Cowherd. Who by the way, predicted a Hawk loss. What sports figures predict is meaningless, what they should give the fan is what they have, the expertise of what it was like to be there. Bradshaw once said that the secret of the Steelers dynasty was not a love of winning, or a fear of losing, but the fact they hated to lose, they ALL just hated it. That's the kind of stuff I want outta them not I know who is going to win or lose, I can get that at Vegas.

True good job holding to 9 points but I saw a 40 year old backup carve up the secondary time and time again

What do you think Rodgers will do?
