My take on the 9ers game

Postby EmeraldBullet » Mon Dec 30, 2019 9:04 pm

We could've and should've beat the 9ers. But I do think our playoff schedule is more friendly than it would have been had we actually won. I think we can beat the Eagles in philly, and a rematch with the 9ers, I think we could beat them.

No, we were lucky not to have beat them, but we were luckier that it was that close. I think the Saints are the team to beat if I was beating my own money.

Aw, come on, Scrooge! We weren't lucky that our game with the Niners was close. The two teams are very evenly matched, as the final scores would indicate. Even the stats line reflects two extremely close games: Combined total yardage was Niners 700, Seahawks 684.

But I do agree with you about the Saints being the favorite. I'll always go with the better, more experienced quarterbacks in playoff situations, and Drew Brees is the best of the best. The Packers looked very ordinary last weekend, and Rodgers didn't look good at all. We've beaten the other 3 teams, so they don't scare me much.

I've got it 9ers first, Saints second, Pack 3rd, Hawks 4, Eagles /Vikes tie for 5. The 9ers already went into NO and put up 48 points and Garoppolo threw 4 or 5 TDs I believe. Bosa is a beast, he beat his guy seemingly every play Sunday and it's a credit to Wilsons elusiveness he wasn't sacked double digits. Their back Mostert is absolutely explosive, Kittle is far and away the best tight end. They have to be the favorite. That Seattle played Meh football and was a few inches from sweeping them is why I still believe.

The Saints got screwed by the Seattle outcome, ironic a blatant PI no call might have screwed them 2 years in a row  :lol:Incredible a 13-3 team is playing WC weekend. I worry about a team with lots of older guys including the QB playing that extra game then 2 on the road. Also a receiver who has a lot of wear and tear and is about 50% of the offense . If he gets dinged up they are toast. Kamura has been a shell of himself although better lately. The D has not dominated like earlier in the year.

GB is 13-3. Are you what your record says you are or not? Rodgers has been in decline for a couple of years and has always been a sulking primadonna but he's still got one of the most deadly arms ever with a game on the line. They handed the Vikes 2 of their 6 losses. They have a great back, decent weapons at wideout and an aging but still dangerous Jimmy graham. The D is decent.I think people draw too much from one loss like the beating the 9ers put on them. I wouldnt feel warm and fuzzy lining up against them.

Seattle has had 10 close wins, 1 comfortable win, 3 bad blowout losses and one inches from a win. I have no Fing clue...They could lay an egg this weekend or go all the way or anything in between. Nobody will feel real safe lining up against them though.

Philly is here because of a really bad division, an inexplicable collapse by a loaded Dallas team and a pretty valiant effort by Wendz in the final month. Yes it was the NFC least but a 4 game win streak is what it is. They have a lot of guys out or hurting. They have an excellent coach. Judging by the Hawks 1-3 december record and trouble with teams second time around this could end right here for Seattle. Not saying it will but I'm sure the Hawks are at least FG dogs. If Philly wins I dont see them making it past the divisional.

With the Vikes its all about Kirk Cousins IMO. He's been a prime time dud his entire career. Now he's going into NO to face a HOF guy? The Vikes are a lot like the Cowboys. Plenty of talent, especially with Dalvin Cook suiting up. A solid coach if not spectacular. It's all about Cousins. he's got the arm talent, the moxie, the knowledge of the game. This team has enough on paper to win some games. Its just putting it together on the big stage in an environment like the Superdome is a bit much to ask.

I can't put the Niners first, not with the way they've played down the stretch, with a home loss to the Falcons and nearly losing to the Rams and to us. Since their two point loss to the Niners, the Saints have won 3 in a row by 2+ scores.

But the NFC does have a packed bracket, best evenly match teams in quite awhile. It's a quite different story in the AFC, with the Ravens being the clear favorite to get to the SB.

I wouldn’t sleep on KC in the AFC. Last 5 games they have one of the best defenses in the NFL giving up under 10 points. Then you have showtime and all those weapons . That might be a hell of an AFC title game

Agreed. KC has looked good down the stretch. However, the AFC gets pretty thin from there on down. The Pats are clearly reeling and the other 3 teams, ie Bills, Titans, and Texans, seem pretty pedestrian when compared to teams in the NFC bracket.

And with Mahomes back their offense is full on track. They can challenge Baltimore.
