https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/mich ... nsive-end/I'd welcome him back at a reasonable price. You can never have too many pass rushers!

He didn't exactly leave here on good terms so I think it's highly unlikely. If he does come here, he's going to have to have a major attitude adjustment, and Bennett has been anything but a conformist.

He might have slammed the door behind himself on the way out but he didn't exactly burn the bridge back to that door.

There's also the issue of him being a potential locker room cancer. He was suspended by the Pats because he got into a pissing match with his position coach because he didn't think he was being used correctly. His team was 6-0 and the defending SB champs with a defensive minded first ballot HOF head coach yet he apparently thinks he knows more about winning football games than the coaching staff.
He also comes with a cap hit of $6M+ this season and $10M next year. That's quite a bit for a 34 year old rotational player that can't stay onsides.
Sorry, I'll pass.

The locker room cancer thing is a real concern, but I think a bit overblown ... whatever the case, I'll let Pete sort that out. If he perceives a problem so be it. As a fan I think he'd be a decent fit.
I don't bother myself with cap implications anymore, it's gotten too complicated, increases too rapidly and it's all apt to change here shortly anyway.

If Pete brings him in, I'm OK with it. I just see too many negatives to where I think he'd risk it. Although like most teams, we can use a good pass rusher, with Reed coming back off of suspension, we're not in that bad of shape. We're certainly not desperate.

My first reaction is an emphatic "NO". "IF" Pete can convince him that "IF" He participates in the team meeting instead of reading books, and "IF" he plays hard and many more "Keep your nose clean" stipulations that he can play against the Pats in the SB, he might be able to get him motivated enough for a year's worth of work. I don't think there's anyway to make it more than a year with him though.
One of the things Pete can't have is a spoiled brat coming in and ruining the young players and the new players (Clowney and Unsah) with a bad attitude.

The Hawks got rid of him for a reason just like Sherman and ET, Big heads and bad attitudes.
So far it looks like they made good decisions based on their play and record.

To be fair, there were other reasons besides their off field behavior that led to their departure, in particular, Sherman's injury, and we might have come to terms with ET had he not held out while he was still under contract, and there was no evidence prior to that holdout that ET had a bad attitude. But there's no doubt that one of the reasons why we parted ways with Sherman and Bennett was their attitudes.

No to Bennett. If he can't get along in NE where malcontents go and suddenly become choirboys he won't make it back here, not to mention he's aging and good for more offsides than anyone in the league.
Go whip the dog out of Atlanta and get Quinn fired. Can Norton and hire Quinn to coach up one of the best front 7s in the league on paper that isn't doing squat and a decent back end including Blair who looks very promising. That's the free agent we need.

Not so sure about Quinn. Maybe it was the talent the Hawks had when he was here that made him look good. Pro Bowl caliber talent at multiple positions can do that. Based on his record with Atlanta and that sieve of a defense, he doesn’t look like a savior to me. Bottom line is Pete has basically run the same defense since the beginning of his tenure and its gotten stale + the horses don’t fit the scheme as well as thy once did.
That coupled with the offense having to be close to perfect every game is a recipe for one and done in the playoffs. That is assuming the Hawks finish no worse than 10-6. Nothing more than a pretender and early exit in the playoffs at this point. Can’t wait to see how far down the Hawks play to the competition this week. I predict a 3 point win in the closing minutes. Let just hope that field goal is a chip shot and not 45+ to win.

Except as it relates to our kicker, that's a reasonable take based on observable evidence. Myers hasn't performed that badly, especially when compared to our previous two PK's. But you can't expect a kicker to boom one in from 53 in the rain at sea level. IMO that miss was as much on Pete as anyone else. Considering the elements, it was at best a 50/50 chance (prior to the attempt, Myers was 1-2 at 40-49 yards and 0-1 at 50+). The smart move would have been to try to draw them offsides, take a 5 yard penalty, then punt.

If you remember, Kam held out and we caved, I said at the time that was a mistake. He got injured and that was it for him. ET thought, or was led to believe, that he would get the same deal or treatment, not a chance. After KC went down, the Hawks were not going to negotiate under the gun again.

We didn't cave on Kam. He came back w/o a new deal:
Chancellor, who had been holding out in hopes of getting his contract restructured, told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith that he intends to revisit his contract situation after the season.https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/137 ... e-seahawks

If he's available, I'd take AJ Green over a healthy Brown 7 days a week. It does seem like we need a better #2 option for Russell right now.

Brown ain't signing with anyone until he resolves his legal problems. Anyone try to read/decipher his twitter remarks? Our school system sure did fail that idiot.
If he's available, I'd certainly take a look-see at AJ Green, though. His size and experience somewhat trumps his age.
