You can almost consider a #34 overall a first round pick. The reason I threw out a 4th rounder is that the Colts are sitting on the #129 and #134 in the 4th, and teams don't like big gaps on their board in the event a player they or another team is desperate for starts to drop.
If the Colts gave up their two 2nd rounders, they'd have a gap between the #26 overall in the first and the #89 overall in the 3rd. That's another big gap that teams would rather avoid. From our own perspective, we don't have a 2nd rounder, so that's a big gap between #21 and #84 that could be filled.
Kansas City, the only other team being mentioned, has a low first (#29) and two low, tightly bunched 2nd's (#61 and #63). If KC traded a #1 and #2, they wouldn't have a single pick in the draft until #61 at the earliest. The Chiefs also have just one low 3rd rounder and no 4th round pick.
If it's true that there's only two bidders for Clark, we're not likely to be offered the huge bonanza for Clark that some are expecting. A high 2nd and a 4th for Clark is probably the low end of what we'd take for Clark, but it would relieve us of another financial headache. Don't forget, we have Bobby to pay next season, and we're not going to be able to tie up 40% of the cap between 3 players.
