This is almost like a Hawks sampler plate as there's lots of rumors in this article:
Hawks could be closing in on a long term deal with Frank Clark, Jody Allen might want to keep the team in the family, KJ Wright likely be a goner, Doug Baldwin and Will Dissly's injuries, and more.

Lots of interesting stuff.
It's Baldwin's last year of his contract and I wonder if it will be his last year playing football.
He's a bright guy and might have some other interests that he wants to pursue and not have
too many aches and pains that would bother him.
I thing ET might get some good offers from either the Jets or Colts as they both have over $100 million
in Cap space and they both could use some help in the back end.
Too bad about KJ. I hope he gets big $ some place if he doesn't stay here, but we are gambling a little
with Kendricks and his sentencing, so there might be a LB or player who played DL in College who has
the mobility to play LB that the FO thinks can make the team. Shaquem might get more of a chance
this year now that he's seen the NFL and what goes on for a year.
Great news about ownership. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Jody Allen at all of the Seahawks games?
She seemed to have a lot of interest in the team, so an owner who's also a fan but not meddling
can be a great combination.

Good point. Baldwin is a Stanford guy, so I would imagine that he would have a lot of opportunities both inside as well as outside football. Even when he was healthy, he didn't seem to be as much of his go-to guy, that Lockett had taken over that role.

I read that Dallas was probably not going to benefit from a home town discount. It's really unfortunate how his time here ended, but hopefully that will all fade when it comes time for his HOF induction.

Yea, KJ was a solid backer and from all accounts, a good teammate. He'll be missed. Regarding Kendricks, his sentencing date is currently set for April 4th, so we should know before the draft if he'll be available.

Ditto. My greatest fear was that we'd get a meddlesome owner of the Jerry Jones/Dan Snyder type. I'm not sure how that squares with PA's succession plan that he filed with the league, though. Hopefully someone that knows more about that subject than me can chime in.

Nothing on Russell, eh. Hopefully we lock him up soon. Good that we're keeping Frank.

IMO they've always wanted to take care of current business before the take on Russell's extension. I doubt that things get serious until well after the draft.

They have to deal with Clark before they can look at others like Wagner and Reed.
I expect them to be decided upon before Wilson is addressed as he's the biggest contract
on the horizon. An F-Tag for Wilson isn't off the table, either.

Agreed about Clark, but I'm not sure if it's a requirement to lock up Wagner and Reed prior to extending Russell or not. Locking up Russell this summer would give us a better idea of how much we can afford to pay Wagner and Reed. You certainly don't want to restrict what we could offer Russell by signing Wagner and Reed to huge contracts.
There's also the motivation with Russell of not going into 2019 with a cloud hanging over the team, trade rumors, etc.

$9M a year is more than I thought Coleman could get. Definitely too rich for the Hawks, but good for him. It'll give someone else an opportunity to own the nickel spot...hope they can equate the value Coleman brought, especially 2 seasons ago.

He's a really good nickle corner, but that is a lot of money. The one position I don't really worry about having to find replacements for is at the DB position. PC has done an outstanding job of making sure we have guys in those positions who can do that job at a high level. I have no doubt that we will find somebody who can do the job at nickle adequately.

The Safety signings are a surprise to me after last year and the depressed market and with so many good ones
looking for jobs.
On another note, Davis signed with the Bears, so we might be thinking RB in the draft at some point.

Looks like your team is bailing off! As I predict 8-10 FA move on. Hahaha.
Rams are getting Weddle and others and keeping the rest
Great management in the Rams

We only have 4 picks going into the draft, and although it's a near certainty that we'll trade down and pick up one or two more, I don't think we can afford spending too much capital on a one or two down position that we're already 2 deep.
Speaking on resignings, we're going to have to sign at least one of our two guards.

We still have McKissic at RB, but all 4 of them if you include Prosise have injury histories.
Penny has the least issue, but he did miss time with a hand injury and we all know about
Prosise and Carson plays such a physical style, he will be hard pressed to last 16 games.
JS has said he expects to have 7 or 8 picks when it's all done, so it wouldn't be a surprise
to me if we picked up another RB.

I'm glad to see us sign Simmons. He played remarkably well last season and both of our starting guards are unsigned.

2 year deal.
I expect it to be enough of a contract for us to get a comp pick next year.

You're right, Detroit has been a black hole for former Seahawks and others.
I wonder if the new coaching staff will be able to turn it around.

It seems the signing of Sweezy by the Cards has lit a fire under our FO to re-sign
Fluker. I hope it works out for both sides.

Simmons seemed to perform well last season, so I don't think you'll see a regression so long as we get Fluker back in the fold. At least to this point, Sweeney is the only starter that we've lost to FA. If he's the only one we lose and if we can get Clark resigned, I'll consider it a success.
There's some speculation that the Giants trading of OBJ was motivated by them attempting to clear cap space so they can make a run at Russell.

Simmonds plays well, but he can't stay healthy.
That's his biggest problem and if a player is only going to play half of
the games or less, we have to find a permanent solution.
I think the draft will bring us a power type Guard like Dru Samia
or BJ Autry.

Me too. Sweezy was going to be nice at the right price Fluker is a must- even if we have to OVERPAY a little bit. I rarely say this about anybody but he is a guy I would pay a little more for. I think the Hawks do a good job of judging what the market is for a player and aren't usually willing to go over that price, but for him I would (obviously within reason).

Along those same lines, what the hell happened to Pocic? Is he officially in the bust department?

A couple of the pre-draft reports about Pocic said he was a better Center than G or T.
Maybe he just isn't the type to fit Solari's requirements. He was thought to be a
cerebral player in College so maybe he's not a physical as we want.
On the other hand maybe it's taken him a while to get used to the extra weight
he put on between his first and second year. I guess we'll see what happens
this year.

I must be thinking of someone else. I thought Simmons was on his first contract and that last year was his rookie or second year. Not sure he's seasoned enough to earn a starting role was why he didn't play. I didn't think it was injury related. Am I thinking of someone else or just screwed up on this guy?

Interesting thought on Pocic. I wonder if Cable screwed him up so bad that he is a bust now. There was such hope and promise for him when he was drafted.

Just signed Mike Iupati to a 1 year deal.
I guess it's a prove it contract, but if he stays healthy he could replace Sweezy quite well.
