I thought that it had become a lost art. We used to do it on the playground when I was in grade school. Earlier this season, we had Dickson doing it on kickoffs if we had a penalty that moved the ball closer to midfield, but today, we've been using it exclusively, and with good results. We've also used it on an onsides kick attempt earlier this season.

So is this the wave of the future? Will other teams start using it?

Rams took 6 kickoffs, their starting points after the returns: their own 39, 42, 30, 17, 36 and 26, no touch backs ... that's one positive result, one neutral and 4 negative results as I see it.

First two were regular kicks... last 4 are only ones worth discussing in regards to drop kicks.... after the first two, I would gladly give up 50% at the 40, with 2 inside of the 30... much better than the alternative.

I'll take 30, 17, 36, 26 over the first two....

I'd see that as 1 negative, 2 neutral, 1 positive.... certainly better than 2 very negative results?

There is video of Dickson drop kicking it through the uprights in practice (I can't tell what yard line, but it looked decently far). He started working on it out of boredom, and said he makes about 75% of them (which is not good enough for NFL standards). He also said that the challenge with doing it in a real game is it completely depends on the elements, like how hard the ground is for starters.

I was surprised to learn that Dickson kicks completely by feel, and does not study, either other punters or his own technique. He says it would give him too much to think about. Whatever works!

I'm surprised that Seabass can't put it 8-10 yards deep into the end zone on kick offs.

Are they saving his leg for FG's? maybe

75% is more accurate than the regular kickers percentage currently....
