Game Plans

Postby RiverDog » Mon Sep 10, 2018 8:56 am

Not as in coaching strategies, but in games I plan on attending in case others are interested in meeting up:

Traveling to Chicago this Saturday with 3 other Hawk fans. It includes a Sunday trip to Wrigley Field to watch the Cubbies.

At home vs. the Cowboys the following week.

And just this morning, I secured tickets to the London game vs. the Raiders next month, having previously secured airline and hotel reservations.

Plus I tentatively plan on attending the Chargers game in Seattle on the first weekend in November, perhaps one game in December. If I follow through on them, that will be more Hawks games that I will have attended in person since I had season tickets 20+ years ago. Sure helps to be retired! I don't think that anyone can accuse me of not supporting our team.

So, if any of you out there plan on going to any of those games, please send me a PM and perhaps we can meet up. Yoder, you got your ears on?

I'd love to meet up with you Riv, but I think I'm going to be in Africa most of this season. I know we would have some good conversation but in the end we'd drink a beer and talk Seahawks football.

On a side note, I was really happy that none of our guys knelt or sat on the sidelines. I know a couple stayed in the tunnel and I'm okay with that.

Yea, too bad, Ida. I would have loved to have met up with you.

I haven't read or heard about any kneeling or protests, unusual as you'd have thought that Kaepernick's Nike ad might have inspired some to do so. I, too, am completely OK with players staying in the tunnel. I've never felt that they don't have a right to express their opinion and don't agree that they be required to stand. My objection is to the stage that they're doing it on. It isn't their stage. My solution was to keep the teams in the locker room and deny them access to the stage.

I heard of only two that knelt from Miami. Okung and a couple others raised their fist, Bennett sat down before the ending of the anthem. I think Beast will sit tonight though.

Well, hopefully after this next trip or two I can make more games. We'll meet up sooner or later. I still owe you a beer from the old PI group.

Riverdog,

Eat some Chicago-style pizza while you're there and let me know how good it was. I've never had real Chicago-style pizza from Chicago. Everyone says it is amazing.
