Russ's political comments

Ok I'll go there....
As most probably know Russ panned Trumps performance so far and opined he didn't know if he would last 4 years.

He qualified it by saying he hoped it didn't come to that because it would mean something very bad had happened.
Without mucking into the details of all that has happened in the last couple of weeks I have expressed similar sentiments in the OT section of this forum as well as other social media.
This will probably be moved OT hastily but I wanted to start the discussion where everyone was aware of it.

Russ and I don't agree on much politically but this seems to transcend politics and policies. We both think the man is completely nuts.
I guess my question for the members of the forum is do you support Wilson's right to speak out regardless of whether you agree?
Are we hypocrites to bash Kap for getting political if we support Russ?
Is Russ going where an athlete and team leader and role model for kids should not go?
Its a bizarre situation IMO.
Thoughts?

It's free speech. Both he and Kap were exercising this most basic right in a free society and that right must be defended at all cost as it is the building block from which all other rights are built upon.

While I generally agree with him I mostly want to say good on him for showing he's not a robot after all. He's a human being with an opinion and doesn't always just say what people expect him to say.

It's refreshing to see RW let down his guard a little here, I think.

Russ isn't alone in his sentiments by any means. This is remarkably horrible for a President less than 2 weeks into his term.http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/ ... ing-trump/
I don't know if the link works but its a legit news organization.40% favor impeachment right now, 12% are not sure.Less than 50% of american voters are firmly against dumping the guy.
Wow.....

Yes, of course. Everyone has a right to speak out.

Are we hypocrites to bash Kap for getting political if we support Russ?

Yes, to a certain degree.

Is Russ going where an athlete and team leader and role model for kids should not go?

Yes, but that's just me. I don't give a rip what a professional athlete or movie star thinks about political subjects. IMO they are no more qualified to speak on political matters than I am and the fact that they come out for or against any particular subject outside of their primary domain of professional sports doesn't affect my opinion one way or another.

Personally I'm a little disappointed in Russell's behavior. Perhaps it's just a gaffe or slip up and that we're making too much of it. All he's doing by bringing politics into his circle is creating a distraction. I'd rather he stick to his meat and potatoes.

I could give two squirts about Wilson's or any other Seahawks social media presence or political commentary. Take a page from Foxborough. That's how you do it......
