I'll miss him, too but it's the end of an era. I think he was a big part early of ESPN becoming as popular as it is now. Probably the right guy at the right time doing something a little bit different.
But with time marching on, and other networks doing it as well or better, it's time to move on.

I can't say that I'll miss him as I didn't care all that much for his style, but as North Hawk put it, he was ESPN in the same sense that Curt Gowdy was NBC.

I can't stand Berman. He berates his production staff & crew. A total condescending primadonna. I've worked with a lot of guys over the years in TV & entertainment, & he is one of the worst.

I'm not sure where or when, but I heard something like that about Berman before, so what you say doesn't surprise me.
